How long does it take to assault a flag in EoTS/AB?

I'm wondering because I am new to RBGs and was guarding a flag with my DK, a shadowpriest came in and attempted to fear cap but I was kiting him and icy touching to interrupt, however.. he silenced me and started capping and I wasn't sure if to trinket or not. I just went into melee range but I'd like to know if that's even possible to cap it in a silence?

I might be biased, but I think there shouldn't be abilities that get rid of immunes. Why are they immunes if they can be taken off?
They should reword the tooltips to say "nearly immune, but some classes can remove it."
