If this mage nerf infact is frostbomb damage reduction, this might be the first nerf that changes anything for mages

its like they think that because a little nerf to the godmode classes means that healing should take a 15% hit and it will all be fine. gonna take more than that to fix the whole problem of hp and dmg vs healing vs cd stacking scaling.

lol@the warrior who was saying this won't allow them to land kills anymore. that's just fucking sad if anyone thinks the TFB change does anything else than just get rid of the near globaling and overpowered burst potential of warriors. they still have cd stacking which is still better than most other classes.

the mage nerf is interesting. i'm pretty biased when it comes to mages right now, given that i'm a rogue that is consistently dying to them as soon as i have to sit in a deep i can't trinket 100->0. so as far as that goes i think it's a good change. it's not like they weren't doing ridiculous dmg in deep's, so while a 50% dmg nerf is heavy, it was probably warranted.

couldn't agree more.  i play my mage as a funsies alt, i'm not sure how mages are supposed to get frost bombs to detonate anymore with deep nerf AND fireblast glyph nerf.  if a healer isn't CC'ed, i feel like you will rarely see it detonate.  changes like this don't just adjust dmg output, it changes the way a class can be played .... such change should be left to bigger patches between seasons, rather than a "oh hey heres a random hotfix, surprise your class is severely nerfed, too bad you cant reroll a diff alt midseason cause you'll always be behind on gear in MoP if you start late."

It might be too much, but it might be that mages need to work harder to time their burst and not brainlessly get a kill in 2-3 sec, also FFB and Ice lance still hit hard..

This makes me feel good that blizzard is trying to fix things quite relatively fast ( fix bm hunter / warrior / rshaman / disc / rogue / demo ). Sounds like a very good season considering its first of a new expac.
