More a matter of fun than balance, hard to have fun when the you barely get to play your character or get nuked in 2-3 gcds. To each his own i guess.

game has never been balanced and judging by the fact that arena has been around for 5 years and 3 expansions, it never will.
everyone will judge 'fun' and 'balance' by when it was funnest/easiest for their class. As a paladin, TBC was garbage, WotLK was amazing, Cata was horrible, and MoP is pretty okay
