I feel like damage in arena is out of control and the only way I see we could make it good again without people running around abusing PvE gear again would be to:

- remove PvP power

- nerf resilience slightly

- Put a debuff on PvE items that make you recive X amount of extra damage on top of the resilience loss while inside a pvp zone making em unattractive. The better PvE item the more extra damage you take would balance this so that you wont take silly damage when being badly geared at the start. for example green lvling gear wont make you take extra damage, but a PvE epic trinket will make you regret it once the enemy realises it.

- Remove the ability to uppgrade gear, it will just make it impossible for people to reroll during a season because they will be to far behind in gear.

This is just an idea I'v come up with. Of course the game wouldn't be perfectly balanced class wise, but right now I feel like its the damage that's out of control and the game should be easier to balance once there isn't possible to just blow someone to the moon just by some lucky critts.

What do you guys think? is this a bad idea?

The debuff thing might work, but it seems like a sloppy implementation and beyond that, it's just (arguably) bad design to have gear give you penaltys like that.  If you want to make pve gear awful in arenas, then disabling it seems like a much simpler solution (which im not necessarily advocating here).

Instead of +PvP Power / +PvP Resilience on PvP Items, how about -PvP Power / -PvP Resilience on PvE items?

Wearing PvP gear doesn't change your damage or resilience, but wearing PvE gear makes you take more and deal less.

oh, and on the topic of upgrading gear, i absolutely hate it. I want to play with friends on different characters but I've missed 5 weeks of conquest cap so I can't really catch up on gear ever, because I don't RBG.

Having a gear disadvantage -every- game != fun.

Blizzard won't put "negative stats" on gear.  It's psychology.  When people look at gear they want to say "COOL AWESOME I OWN", not, "Hey....this gear I have is rly cool for slaying dargons but it has some red numbers on it..."

The upgrading gear thing has it's pros and cons.  It's their attempt at making the ladders more active.  So you can't reroll or potentially have an alt that's fully geared due to time commitment.  I don't think that's too horrible.  At least they're doing SOMETHING to tryin' make the ladders more active for the duration of the season.

I think they're doing a pretty good job overall so far this season considering their track record for new xpack arena seasons.

i think everyone should stop this game because there is too much things to fix/balance and blizzard already shown us that they just don't give a single fuck about ideas/sugestions.

This is from a healers perspective, damage is insane but should be similar to Wrath.. Not resto shamns NSing people to full hp in 1 heal for a 300k or something absurd.. Make them actually have to cast and keep casting whilst avoiding CC/faking to get people topped.

The problem is that classes apart from mages and warriors do absoulutely no damage outside of cooldowns.

Also even an idiot can think "oh we are buffing pvp power on weapons, maybe we should increase the resillience of every pvp item slightly to make up for it" but these people are no ordinary idiots.

the spike in dmg is due to people upgrading t2 weapons first. Once all ur armour is 2/2 upgrades it will be back to scale

Feels like RNG all over the place again. People getting oneshotted, healed to full with 1 button... So many unavoidable instants...

Locks with no cds up do next to no damage. Ferals with no cds up do good damage but still lower than warriors and mages.

They actually do bugger all damage at all outside of CDs if you include Tigers Fury ;)

They need to make pvp resilience also reduce crit damage taken, this would probably just solve half of the retarded numbers there currently are, if the 200k crits are turned into 80-90ks or so with cd's, that would be acceptable. Would allow them to also buff sustained damage or w/e.

More simple solution. Remove pvp power gems.
When mop came out i prayed that they woulden't put in pvp power gems so people coulden't stack it over every other stat and do retarded dmg.

Guess what happened.

I just calculated the dmg difference taken when I go from 67 percent to 68 percent reduction(I'm on 68% resil now) and with my moonkin form reduction you need to have 4,7% dmg increase to compensate
