the difference between gladiator and duelist is more about player ability to manipulate the system, not skill.

doing rated battleground since day1 for massive conquest cap gear advantage
eg
que dodging countercomp
eg
sniping teams by logging off and logging on when your feeder teams are playing

Duelists do all of that stuff. In fact, I'd make the case duelists queue dodge more than glads. Good players will queue into anything.
