Remove on-use-damage PvP trinkets from the game

This would be the single best change for the overall health of the game.  They might as well change the text of the on-use to: "While doing 50% more damage, you do an additional 20% more damage."

Am I crazy or would this help tremendously?  Should I make a thread on the official forums/plead to devs?  They could replace them with whatever.  Almost anything is better than this.

Not really sure if on-use-trinkets are on top of the list of what's wrong with this game at the moment.

So people have nothing at all to counter your "warlock pvp trinket" also known as Darksoul(since you cant dispel it anymore). I´ve seen through your dark scheme, you villain. :duckers:

at the very least they could make them dispellable or not stack with other offensive cooldowns

I honestly think it would help but the buff to pvp power and the shear scalling of gear is the issue, ppl who started pvp 3/4 weeks late are so far behind they cant actually truly compete right now.

Blizzard made it fairly obvious that they don't see the current burst damage/meta game as a problem.

alot of things would help

like deleting demonology because its a gimmicky spec where people from 1800 to 2800 do the same shit and win

I think the on use is fine. They need to tone down the burst cooldowns of a lot of classes imo. Like affliction for example I think is a great balance of how damage should be more or less. It could be tweaked sure, but I still like the model more than most.

I like that idea, Damage during cooldowns is too huge right now, and this is a good change without touching pve

i like the part of just making it not stack with other offensive Cd's , i can't see harm in that, most logical thing to do rather than just completely removing it.

If you deleted on use trinkets you would just see an increase in orc characters. I would rather see less "increases your damage by X %" and more dynamic abilities.

my first thought to this would be it would ruin mages as it seems most of their kills come from trinket use + icy veins + etc on a deep freeze/frostbomb combo

also, the people complaining about demo in this thread probably aren't aware yet but demo is dead from the patch. (there were also hotfixes that made them even worse including -10% dmg on aura instead of 20%, range cut from 40 yards to 20 yards on aura, demonic fury cost tripled, etc)

The only real problem with on-use trinkets is that they stack with other cooldowns like demon soul and avatar which basically do the same thing. If it were changed so that you weren't allowed to use them both at the same time, then that problem would be done with.

I dunno. but I like being able to choose when I want to do more damage. If the on-use one were gone, every dps would go with the passive procc shit and that is just so much more brain dead and random. Or are you suggesting that those be gone too?

Problem with burst is that they gave us free 10% pvp power on weapons. Imo to compensate it they had to increase base resilience up with 5-10% so damage wouldnt get so much affected and yet will make pvp weapon better than heroic weapons.

and fiend has not even 50% uptime with all that slows, mass cc's etc.

it should be like the pally pet, immun to everything.

It would certainly hurt the burstier classes a bit more, but I think that's kinda needed right now.  Mages doing 150k+ Frost Bombs at the same time as 50k+ Fire Blasts is a little excessive.

You like being able to choose when you want to do more damage?  Shouldn't that just be Avatar or Dark Soul?  Why does every DPS class, in PvP, have an additional damage increaser to macro into their swifty button?  I think that's how 99% of people use their trinket--macroed into their existing damage boosters.  It's not interesting, and removing the trinket would remove an additional cooldown from ALL classes in PvP with one change, and without affecting PvE at all.

This change would have nothing to do with people being Orc or not.  You can use Blood Fury with the trinket and your regular swifty abilities (Avatar, Dark Soul, etc) right now.  Also, removing ~5k str/agi/sp from swifty macros is still a huge deal, even if some small percentage of people do go Orc.  Blood Fury is not nearly as strong as trinket.

I don't think this is a terrible model for DPS classes.  I don't see why DPS needs to do low damage for 100 out of every 120 seconds, then jump up to double or triple damage for 20 seconds.  Also, you can always pick up PI if you want an extra offensive CD.
