Anyone else find this to be ridiculous? RNG on medium/long cooldown CC abilities is pretty uncool.
Is this even consistent with other similar CC from other classes? Can you dodge/parry warrior storm bolt, shockwave, hunter pet intimidation, felguard axe toss, or rogue kidney shot, for example?

There's one thing bothering me with leg sweep, and that's how fucking random the range is, sometimes I hit shit 10 yards away, sometimes it misses shit when I'm on top of them, I'm seriously considering just rolling with something else.

Yeah, that's just latency/dropped packets and your client using movement prediction. The location you're seeing the person when your leg sweep misses isn't where they actually are on the server. It's just particularly bad with leg sweep because its radius is only 5yd, where most point-blank AOE spells are 8yd (i.e. psychic scream).
Also keep in mind that melee range is 8yd, but leg sweep is only 5. So just because a target is attackable in melee doesn't mean they're in leg sweep range.
