PRIVATE/PAID PROXIES ARE NOT NECESSARY.

Step 1: Go to http://hidemyass.com/proxy-list/ , then match your settings to this

Posted Image

This should list the fastest proxies for the US. Obviously, substitute the country for another if you are not residing in the US ( Or if you wish to use a proxy in another country for whatever reason )

Step 2: Pick a server, generally you want to go with the one at the top since it's the fastest

Posted Image

The top three should give you a good fallback if the very top one becomes overloaded Note: Skype does not typically USE the proxy you set unless it's blocked from a direct connection however you can FORCE it to use the proxy via registry settings. That's what we're about to do.

Step 3: Go to https://dl.dropbox.c...itch/skype.html

Posted Image
This configurator will generate a registry file for you to merge into your windows registry. It's entirely safe, and in the event that you wish to remove your proxy ( You can't remove it through Skype itself ) , it also provides a key that will automagically remove your proxy settings.[

Obviously, substitute HTTPS for SOCKS5 if you are lucky enough to get a GOOD SOCKS5 Proxy

Posted Image
As seen in the image above, Skype will still try to direct connect over UDP even while proxying TCP over HTTPS. This is a HUGE problem since it effectively renders your proxy useless. However, we can fix that by forcing Skype to disable it's usage of UDP. This will impact voice and video quality a bit, but overall it's not a huge problem and being safe is more important. I'd also like to re-iterate that SOCKS5 Proxies do not have this problem, they support both TCP and UDP through the proxy. If you can find a good one, you're very lucky or you're paying for it.

Step 4: Put your selected proxy's IP and port in the appropriate boxes

Posted Image

And click save. It will prompt you to save the file, so save it somewhere you can find it.

Step 5: Go find the file, and either right click -> Merge...

Posted Image

Or just double click..

Step 6: It will tell you that you shouldn't add information from sources you don't trust

Posted Image
You trust me, right? Click Yes.

Finished: It will merge the values into your registry, now RESTART YOUR COMPUTER and you should be protected!

Posted Image
Remember, if your connection through a certain proxy is bad, use a different proxy! Have fun and be safe! Remember that if someone already has your IP, change it AFTER you set up your proxy connection! -Fire | TwitchTV Administrator |  Special thanks to Pipe |

Since your using public proxies, your skype will lag quite often.

editing the registry for skype is a good idea, but use a private proxy that doesn't have so much traffic going through it.

its up to where you live, many companies that sell private proxies will have varied locations.

you want to buy one with unlimited bandwidth and the location is relatively close to you for the lowest latency possible.

Public proxies are just fine, they don't lag for me in calls.  With public proxies you can't host group calls otherwise it is going to sound like shit.  You can buy a proxy or a vps or some shit like that, but it isn't necessary for skype.

Even proxies werent necessary (atleast for most of us, not speaking of ie geru), if people would be able to shut the fuck up and not share any contacts to those idiots.
If people get your skype due to your stream, http://www.teamliqui...topic_id=225200

Otherwise I could recommend Perfect Privacy, which is also anonymous and not logging any of the content you are browsing, if you are in need of it. It's also stable and fast, never had problems with it. http://www.perfect-p...m/services.html
25~ per month or 150~ a year. Would be the highest possible, in terms of quality, kind of VPN service you could use.
Otherwise most of the usual ones do it for skype, ie cyberghostvpn, which also has a 1m (or traffic? I don't remember exactly, as I don't use it) restriction for "free-premium". So you are able to test the premium service for free (you can choose the VPN, it's location and the speed/quality). Afterwards you are able to purchase trafficbased flats or the unlimited packet, prices are 4-10€ per month

Why do you idiots insist on using these private proxies?  If you really want to throw away your money can I pretend to sell you guys these super safe proxies and you idiots just throw your money at me?  They are totally unnecessary for skype.  Also, when you alt tab with stream privacy it still shows your tasks in the middle of the screen, which shows your skype username.  ;)

The problem is, that if even well-known players like melby start ddossing, it is really hard to keep your ip a secret, since you will be playing with alot of the semi-top players (who are the ones known to do the ddossing) or one of their acomplices at some point or another, its just impossible to always be on the lookout for who you give your skype info

Want to see your face if your public proxy shuts down in the middle of an important match ( ;
yes, stream privacy is sadly not perfect atm nor are public proxies.
especially when you are under attack, public proxies tend to shut off. Depends on the person which is DDoSing you (iam talking about ddos, not shell booting), if he/she lends a botnet, you can be pretty damn sure your public proxy will just shut off.

it feels atm like people start with it to be "on par", sadly. Mostly the problem are people who just share a contact with anyone who is asking for it.

completely restart skype and it should work
