Today I talked with Team Old Boy, the Chinese long-time big fishs playing RLS. They do not speak English so I had a translator for the questions.
The name "Team Old Boy" is derived from their long streak as one of leading Chinese arena teams and not based on the Korean movie. When talking about Korea - the rivalry is strong and these guys have a huge respect for the Korean players. Korea is the Asian E-Sport Mekka and so the gigantic China is the underdog in WoW.
In China the MMR exploit was made public earlier than in EU and US and so they had a hard time finding decent opponents for training. They followed streams, videos and the armory of the opposing teams in order to prepare.
Without experience against the players from Europe, US and Korea the Chinese teams are the clear underdogs. First impression was that they do not play on the level we are used from tournament players like Snutz or Talbadar. But remember last BlizzCon when a team no one had on the list took it all.
Good luck and have fun Team Old Boy. I wish you the best. May a team with a rogue defend their honor.
