Hi guys,

Ive noticed ever since the post stampede nerfs I have yet to meet a hunter in arenas once the MMR crosses 2000 rating. It just seems to be casters + kitty galore. I just wanted feedback from hunters who are still actively queueing as to what comps they feel can have a place in higher level gameplay.

KFC is still viable, stampede wasn't the only hunter damage ability; it was retarded, aye.. But it's not the only spell they did damage with.. KFC works great still, from what I've seen anyways, PHD is also very viable.. Those are the main comps I've seen over 2k anyways, there was one or two teams I met vs shadow priest/hunt/healer but don't think it was that good.

Pretty much this, Personaly I still think that HLD might always have a spot in somewhat competitive ratings also.

+ Nice to see new names comming up in Bronzebeard PvP after we left :D

From my experience the best hunter comps are Ret hunter and Jungle.

KFC is very random, and can have ridiculous starting pressure and unhealable damage (thanks warriors) but after that it's basically a rot til the death. Especially against shaman teams where the fear is useless against the healer. You can play it right of course, and hold on to cds, timing them with traps and stuff, but I've yet to find a warrior or face a KFC that dismounts without recklessness(obvious sarcasm, but most idiots think they are swifty). All the good ones must be playing with Mages or Locks.

Jungle and Ret Hunter benefit from basically the same things. Both classes are hybrids, and both have great ability to CC and burst. Amazing comps in my opinion.

PHD is fucking dog shit. Frost DK's don't belong in arena. All they bring is a bunch of splash damage and random burst that is very weird to coordinate with. The reason PHD was great last season is because of it's ability to set the opposing team so far behind from the beginning of the game. The pressure would start with cooldowns and it would never quite go away with the amount of interrupts the comp had.

Thug cleave, nvm rogues aren't in the game.

Then there is the casters. I have played Mage Hunter with Mitch and it has the ability to work, but let's be realistic, what Mage in their right mind wants to play with a fuckin BM hunter? Same goes for warlocks and shadow priests.

Our class doesn't bring much to the table ATM, and pales in comparison to other casters.

Keep in mind, this is my experience from BG9.

I wasn't saying competitive arena is after 2k, it's just that the Ranc was talking about that amount of rating..

So what? Its not like hunter brings anything to the comp other classes cant do better. its only good because warriors are dumb, if they were average comp would be bad

I'm running KFC it's not too bad. Got 2200 after the nerfs so it still has decent potential.

Thug cleave still brings alot of opening pressure, but unlike kfc you can take advantage of how stupid bomb remains with a comp that can put out redonk, unavoidable damage in a few seconds; especially with stormlash totem, raid freedom and tremor available.

Probably
1) Jungle
2) RHS - Rdruid version probably has similar potential
3) Thug

The problem is how easy it is for godcomp/shatterplay to destroy KFC now. Without stampede they just cycle defensives and peel, peel until they catch someone with a trinket and end it with a deep. I think things will be better after the mage nerfs.

Jungle Cleave seems like a lot of fun right now. I just played KFC up to 2.2k after the stampede nerf and it still works quite well.

BM with monkeys, mage, healer monk. Works surprisingly well. Just survive (which isn't all too hard with 4x RoS and monkey stuns everywhere) until mage globals something. Wonder what healer is best tho

You are totaly right. Against mages its like u play until u dont have any def cds more and they kill u easy. Like in 5s we play against 2 Mages and 3 Healers. It was so easy for the mages to beat us because they game end after no def cds more and they easy kill a healer.
