I know you aren't ignoring MM, but do you really think the minor changes in 5.1 will be enough for it to be viable?
We increased the duration of Steady Focus, which is both a quality of life and DPS increase. (Source)

We might reintroduce Sniper Training if hunters never stop moving, but not for 5.1.
Nerfing froststorm breath? BM AOE is already horrible. Why nerf it more?
I think data mining is picking up changes we hotfixed in weeks ago. Don't assume datamined tooltip changes are real changes. (Source)
So I was curious to see the 5.1 patch notes contained nothing in regards to BM hunters having reduced damage output.?
Their damage output is fine. Their damage output in a short window is not, and that's where we targeted the changes. (Source)

tbh Powershot MUST be able to cast while moving, and 2.5 sec cast.

Another crazy thing that was going around my head is maybe having x2 charges on each trap school? Just as double charge and such works. For example you freeze healer, you can still use aoe slow(2nd charge). Or you can retrap healer with DR. Or even if partners ate trap you have 2nd chance(lets face it - its not hard for people to eat traps nowadays).
Another trap change is just lower trap cd to like 15 sec (same as repentance) 28 sec(since everyone uses pvp gloves) is kinda way too long. This way if you scattered and dps crossed the whole map and ate trap( gotta love those quick triggers) you wont rage that you gotta wait 28 sec to try trap again. Instead you can pet sleep him and trap him in 15 sec.
Also they have to make trigger faster and with maybe something like 1yd more range. As mentioned by many hunters people are walking thru the traps and it just doesnt trigger.
Maybe they should make intimidating shout baseline aswell so we can have some decent peel while playing 2v2. Im not really liking this idea but it might be good. Or even if its BM only why dont they reduce it to 20-30 sec cd aswell so it's like shockwave cd too.
I know it's lame to be like"ooh other classes have those abilities - why dont we have them too" but right now everyone have better cc than hunters. I also know theres way too much cc in the game aswell. Maybe instead of giving us cc they could also remove some cc or give it cd(example poly to have 3-5 sec cd so its not healer dispels you and you just sit half poly afterwards).

Remove Stampede.
Replace it with a baseline Barrage, buff it to be a decent DPS CD ala Killing Spree, also add a Major glyph called "Glyph of Focus Fire" that buffs the single target damage but no longer cleaves a la Glyph of Starfall so we can have control over what the ability does in our particular comps. Still castable while moving like in 5.1.
Redesign lvl 75 tree :
Half A Murder of Crows focus cost, make it reset completly if the target its on dies.
Replace Blink Strike with something less redundant with Kill Command. Out of ideas for now.
Revert Lynx Rush change and make it cleave an additional target in a 5yards radius.
LvL 90 Tree.
Glaive toss hits much harder, CD bumped to 1 minute, also roots the target for 3 to 5 seconds.
Power Shot redesigned, its now a buff on a 2 minutes cd that greatly improve's your spec's signature shot.
Powered up Kill Command : Blink Strike, shadow step your pet behind the target, does more damage than KC also give's your pet a 6 seconds freedom.
Powered up Explosive Shot : Improved Damage, instantly procs Lock and Load, stuns the target for 3 seconds (TNT Stun comeback without the RNG shit).
Powered Chimera Shot : Improved Damage, Improved healing, Knock backs the target as far as the current Power Shot.
Add a new 3rd lvl 90 ability here. Out of ideas for now.
Also buff pets survivability, its really insanely stupid how easy it is to kill them now.
