And if they do change it, 2300 should without a doubt be the lowest they will go!

For those wondering where 2200 came from, we base access on what Gladiator would be, minus 150 rating.
Last season on several BG's, 2400 and below was Gladiator. Currently, if the season ended tomorrow, 2400 and below would be Gladiator. We are currently estimating, before the team rating change in 5.1, that Gladiator will be 2350+ on most BG's.
Discussions are ongoing and things may well change again if 2200 does not turn out to be the sweet spot.
There should be respect given to a separate part of the game, despite the stigma that "RBG's don't matter" they take skill, awareness, and experience just like arena. And I would challenge any top arena players to form a group of RBG players and beat mine. Anyways, 2400+ sounds fine, as long as moderators don't let the RBG DDOS group gain membership. Huge trolls.

First of all, where are these amazing forum threads you have been reading over the last 2+ years that are full of constructive, civil discussions? Because they sure as hell weren't in the Junkies section of AJ. Second, the idea that you have to be a 2400 rated player to write a useful post is idiotic. You think that because you earned a Gladiator title there's no possible way you could improve your game by reading a post from some random 1800-rated kid who might have noticed something that you missed?
Right now, the vast majority of Junkie threads suck because they are written BY people who think they know everything about pvp TO people who think they, themselves, actually know everything about PvP. Some of those players actually do understand arena better than I ever will, but if the goal is insightful, helpful forum posts (as opposed to some PvP country club where the elite come to socialize with each other), then you need to encourage dialogue between players of differing levels of experience. Otherwise, you end up with what we have now: forums full of annoyed Gladiators who spend most of their time venting instead of sharing ideas or teaching because they can only converse with each other.
Conversations are really boring and unhelpful when everyone in the room has relatively the same level of expertise. Nobody wants to say anything, b/c nobody wants to feel like the douchebag who is going around telling people shit they already know...

This elitist attitude that someone got rating playing a more powerful class/comp making them mongos and baddies is ridiculous. Show me one junkie who hasn't played something powerful and I'll show you 100 current junkies who have. It's how it's done.
