Rogues have too many problems right now. Yeah, things will be "better" at 90 when it takes longer to kill us than it does right now, but when we're still CC'd for 95% of every match it doesn't much matter. Every team is going to have a mage/lock/spriest/boomkin just about. Burst during dance is incredible but you'll see that go way down as sub when we have ~20% crit season 12. Unless they add some crit chance to ambush or evis, we'll be playing mute first season. Sadly. They left out too many important talents to sub and gave us the dumbest talent choices of any class.

At least Deadly Throw hits a lot harder as a talent than it did as a baseline ability!  Mainly missing prep/step.  Stuck choosing between mobility and survivability is no good.  Dunno how things will change at 90, but wargames (speaking of 2s here) without a healer are pretty rough currently.  Even if our survivability is more reasonable at 90, we'll probably still need a healer just to maintain some uptime on a target, especially since we need to keep rupture/SnD/recuperate(sometimes) up before we're actually able to deal mediocre damage.

Sustained damage isn't as good as it was and backstab seems worthless.  On the other hand, our burst in dance (or just with On-use/prey on the weak/sanguinary vein active) is phenomenal.  Legendaries are pretty hilarious, also, with how hard evisc is hitting. :P

I've mostly only played my mage in wargames but finally got around to playing my rog again.  From the feel of it I'm really liking sub however the damage in arenas doesn't seem up to par with mut.  After playing with several different rogs playing between sub and mut on my mage mut's damage isn't even comparable to sub.

If you guys are doing wargames definitely try out mut, seems like the way to go for right now.

Yep, muti indeed seems to be a better choice as of now.

Then you woke up and realized that in season 12 at level 90, we'll have 18-20% crit and with no more +crit talents, ambush is going to do nothing for us anyways during dance. We're going to be forced to play mutilate until late expansion, unless some drastic changes are made.

Rogues are a touchy class. Blizzard sure gave us the shaft. They didn't really think shit over at all when they were redesigning us for MoP.

our damage atm is OP it needs to be toned down.

sub:
sdance dmg = too high

outside dance dmg = too low

other thoughts: having to keep up rupture for 25% damage and slice for energy is over the top.  - Evis is ur main damage and it hits too hard as sub.

assasination:
CD Damage = perfect

constant damage = perfect

poison damage = over the top (20-30k deadly ticks)

other thoughts: only having to keep 1 rupture or garrote up for energy is doable unlike the rotation as sub.

----------

no matter what spec deadly poison is too much damage atm and 50%+ of our damage should NOT be from deadly poison.

You forgot to adress mobility and survivability right there.

As for mobility if you pick up shadowstep you have it if you don't - you well, don't.

As for survivability if you pick up shadowstep you have it if you don't - you well, don't.

It is sad that we do not have infinite survivability anymore but I enjoy rogues at the moment - I have not played 90 so I cannot speak for what they will be like in MOP but right now in this bridge patch I enjoy having to TRY again.

So, are you talking about at 85 or 90? Cause at 90 rogues seem pretty shit.
