The poison proc mechanic changed with MoP. It's not PPM anymore it's a simple chance on hit. While wound poison damage isn't really significant for Paralytic the difference is huge. Still with Swords you give away about 1% damage on Ambush for slightly more damage outside of burst. Hemo is less overall damage than backstab+keeping the hemo dot up. It is however often worth to sacrifice damage in order to get combo points.

The difference is overall pretty small, so you are not screwed if you use a sword, but even with the Human expertise bonus daggers are the better choice.

with the upcoming 5.3 changes I'm assuming that agility will outweigh pvp power for gems?

something like

red: agi gems
yellow: agi/resil or agi/mastery
Blue: agi/pvp power or resil/power

Correct. With 5.3 agility is the way to go. Resilience is still a solid choice but with lower overall burst, especially for rogues, I guess we have to go even further into the glass cannon direction.

Trinkets order is still PvP Proc > Shadowpan Talisman > other PvE trinkets & onUse. Also Tailoring is the best profession if you want to kill stuff in the opener, combined with Engineering. Else pretty much every profession is on the same level, except the gathering ones.

Currently I'm unsure which comps will work out best, but from a first guess Hunters are the best partners or maybe some melee cleave (Enhancer) or even (I very much hope not) Triple DPS.

True.

Question: Working on 5.3 calculations. Can someone tell me the exact proc values of the PvE trinkets (most important Shado Pan) in 5.3?

I run close to 2.93% or something, as in I reforge every point of expertise I can.

Maybe at some point but we have started to work on a non-gaming business together and have a huge workload. So it's extremely unlikely to happen this year. We plan to play the beta however and do another guide during the beta if our schedule allows it.
