They do exist, but pvp power and int are practically the same, however pvp power is just a bit more powerful. (~2.5%)

Perfect Mysterious Roguestone gives 80 intellect + 160 pvp power, whereas a Stormy rivers heart gives 320 pvp power.

The reason you choose the Roguestone gem over the rivers heart, even though in total the Roguestone has less stats to equate to the 320 pvp power gem is because of the gem slot set bonus that give additional stats (120 pvp power on gloves if i recall correctly)

Wow Momo, you are such a nice fucking HELPFUL CUNT

i actually did some math.
on a 1:1 ratio as afli the following seems true (assuming hit cap):
int > mastery > pvp power > haste > crit

seems like people are saying pvp power > int now.

pvp power > mastery or no? (UA)

A Brilliant (int) gem gives 160 while a PvP power gem gives 320, so which one is the best dmg increase in %?

pvp power scales better once you reach 9,1k spellpower
but, pvp power scales better, the more spellpower you have

so a mix between both is good, so i will stick with sp/pvpp gems in reds and blues

ok im back wth better data and parses for affliction. i read that post but i just dont buy that pvp power is better than int in a 1:1 ratio. from what i get all he did was take a single ability and see if int or pvp power is better for that spell. we dont cast one spell always so that equation is very rudimentar.

EJ says int is worth 4.93 dps while mastery is worth 2.76 dps in full heroic gear and if you look into your character stats you'll see that pvp power conversion is actually worse than affliction's mastery, but since affliction's dmg doesnt come 100% from dots it ends up a little bit behind pvp power. after over 10 bgs i found out that my dots compose ~70% of my overall dmg (EJ lists it at 74.8% in a single target rotation so multi dot would be even higher).

every point of mastery increases your dots' dmg by
0,0051669449081803005008347245409%
every point of pvp power increases all of your dmg by
0,00377447141738449490994518402506%
but since about 70% of our dmg only come from dots, mastery becomes
0,00361686143572621035058430717863%

conclusion: in a 1:1 ratio the following seems true for affliction

int >>> pvp power >> mastery >> haste > crit

in a 1:2 scale (gems) the following seems true:

pvp power >> mastery > int >> haste > crit

differences arent very big on the latter so you should still follow gem collors accordingly, prioritizing pvp power on every gem of course.

that thread you linked was for a maeg at 85.

Seems like ideal gemming right now is

Red: 80int/160pvp power
Yellow: 160pvp power/160 pvp resil? <- discuss
Blue: 320 Pvp power

PvP power gems are better than int gems over 15k spell power.
