Hey guys,

Just released a video of my guardian play from BWE3, I do not use any 2handers and play to support my team and with still having burst potential. I am also looking for future teammates post release, only serious teammates that know the ins and outs of their class.

Let me know what you guys think, leave a comment here or on youtube.
Cheers,
Seaz

I really wish you didn't curse so much, but other than that it's a great explanation!

I will try and curb it a little more in the future, I did not really think it was that bad but some people think otherwise.
Thanks for watching buddy.

It is a very safe build to run- it is not reliant on random crits/obscure star alignment. I am trying out some different builds/gear combinations for release- I will post results and builds whenever I can.
Thanks for the feedback

For group play, running 10 in radiance for the blind/vulnerability synergy will be very strong. I'm not a huge fan of the valor tree as it stands.

Fantastic, exactly what I was looking for ! I couldn't find a thread about the support gameplay of the guardian.

@Seaz:
- What kind of Rune and Sigil do you use? I see that you have a lot of health.

- Superior Aria (reduces the shout CD by 7sec) VS Resolute Healer (shield when reviving an ally).
Don't you think the shield ( + it should KB isn't it? I didn't see that in game) when you revive an ally can be more useful ?

-Same question as Rakanichu : Focused mind or Blind exposure ?

That's all folks. :)

For runes(my favorites right now):
Rune of dwayna
Rune of soldier(most recently because of 'Stand your ground')
Rune of the monk (haven't personally tried this but in theory looks really nice, could mean the difference between you getting an ult heal off and a death of a teammate)

As for my health I was just running knights amulet with a clerics jewel attached- I since then have revamped my runes and jewels to become a bit more healing intensive with 17k health and lots of toughness. I will be posting this new build and maybeee a small compendium on another website~ I recently joined a team called Deal With It (DWI) and will be posting a lot of content related to builds and choices to make depending on play style and team composition. I will post the link back to this forum once the website is up!

As far as the superior aria vs resolute healer: I like the cooldown reduction on shouts, and with the recent buff to stand your grand it makes it even more useful to run with it- the resolute healer does have its advantages but usually if I am pulling off a rez I can pop one of my shouts/aegis (you can pop these while rezzing) to ensure I get someone up quick (not to mention I could use sanctuary). Further testing will have to be done before I say for 100%.

As for:

Very good observation on both your parts,  I am not a huge fan of valor tree either- the other traits in it are kind of useless for my purposes, but it was useful to make merciful intervention an instant skill (which I think can be a really good tool to have under your belt, it is a safeguard verses stun combos and have split second reactions to save teammates). I have since dropped merciful intervention (atleast until they fine tune it, then I will revisit it) and picked up an additonal shout, so you may infact drop these points to grab the extra blind+vulnerability (if you can go/your team can go without toughness bonus).

Good questions coming in, keep them up guys- its what drives the class forward in progression.

I tried Seaz's build last night and I have to say that it was pretty amazing when I was in a good group (actually, I drop the idea to pex a ranger as main character and go for the guardian ^^ ).
For the Rune of Monk, I'm not a fan of buffing a high CD spell (elite spell CD is 3min long! ). But it's personal, I prefere to buff the spells I use a lot even if it's a little. Same as the random, I'm not a fan of the trait that removes 1 condition every 10sec.

The mediation intervention skill heals a lot but is totally broken when there is 2/3 people in the group, I wasn't able to heal to good one. So as you say, let's pick up an other shout (the reduction of shout CD is a must in this config, I cannot argue more).
IMHO, "Save yourselves" can be dangerous without the mediation skill "Contemplation of Purity" (remove all condition on yourself). "Stand Your Ground!" can be good with the stability and retaliation. But I like the "Retreat" shout that gives Aegis and the speed (if Pure of Heart works on allies, it can be cool too).

Without this mediation skill, we can take 10pts in Radiance and get blind/vulnerability debuff. And don't forget the 5pts minor trait of Radiance gives an aoe blind on Virtue of Justice. A switch Sword/Focus and you can spam 3 times the blind spell, brake the enemy burst and buff your allies dps. Definitely something that can tip the balance on your favor.

Also, what Sigil do you guys use ? I was lost when I was building my guardian last night.
The Sigil of Superior Life (+10healing when you kill a foe) reset if you swap weapon so it's not "that" good.
If you take the Radiance trait that gives you the vulnerability debuff, the Sigil of Superior Peril (+10% duration of vulnerabilities) can be good. I don't know if we can stack sigils.
Sigil of Superior Energy (+50% endurance on swap weapon) can be ok with the roll dodge heal.
Sigil of Superior Leeching (life steal) on the sword maybe ?
Or Sigil of Superior Hydromancy with 3sec freeze on weapon swap (I am not against a snare on each weapon and get a 10sec CD snare)

Ps: I'm hoping for an other stress-test.

Awesome Videos, probably one of the most in-depth ones I've come across.

Also what Mic did you end up purchasing?
