There was a beta patch yesterday for MoP that addressed the previous issue where people were getting one-shot on the MoP beta. I think we have a new problem, though...

Opinions?

Yeah. Damage is way too low. Or healing is way too high. I seem to be able to kill mediocre healers if I get full procs and blow all my CD's. Otherwise people just stay at 90% burning crusade style.

Now we need high pvp power on weapons and things would actually look pretty good.

I don't understand how PvP Power working on heals is a good idea. Damage is mitigated by Resilience, but healing is boosted twice by PvP stats — once directly by PvP Power and once indirectly by Resilience. It seems like it's going to scale out of control.

PvP Power needs to reduce target's resilience by an amount equal to your PvP Power (ie bring it back to the 50% baseline assuming both targets have full PvP gear, more than 50% if the attacker has PvE gear), not to boost your damage by X%. Having like 80%+ damage reduction (72% without gems) is just... idiotic.
PvP Power boosting healing is fine, it's just a way to increase throughput.

It just made the stock value of classes that bring -% healing that much more important to arena comps

Everyone complained about too high burst after Swifty's video and now resilience got buffed. Slightly staged videos (hello World of Roguecraft) always worked best to force changes on the developers. Can someone please make a convincing video about pvp power on weapons, that outrages the community Swifty-style?

They don't even bother explaining their changes anymore. They're just like "we changed some pvp stuff because people were complaining, shut up and fuck you."

not sure how close they are...

seems like they are attempting to re-introduce TBC style damage, which was decent. you were actually rewarded for casting damage/healing/cc and having good position. this worked because because there were less abilities in the game, and almost no class could be self sufficient

whereas in cata it was literally the complete opposite, rewarded for not casting, no penalty for positioning, many times you can have someone in 30 seconds of cc and they can be sustain themselves

there is too many new abilities, self healing, hybrid healing and instant cc that have been introduced since TBC to think we can go back to that kind of "slower paced" game, not to mention mana was actually a significant issue within 2-3 minutes back then. last night zilea and I played a warlock rogue, 10+ minute game and the warlock out healed zilea (upwards of 3+mil healing)

it really is just fundamentals, let the dps do the dps, the healers do the healing. dps healing themselves, healers NOT having to cast heals through instant healing, hybrids being able to heal 75% of a regular healer while maintaining the ability to burst damage, it's backwards

Yeah, all the self-healing in the game is beyond ridiculous. It was okay when it was just two or three classes specialized in it, like Death Knights and Retribution Paladins. But now it's just dumb.

Still, I think the game would be fine if healing in general was nerfed. It's never going to be TBC again, but it could be balanced and fun.

watching you and zilea fight spreist mage for like 15 mins was rather annoying. i sure hope the healing that spriest did wont stay. i really dont want to fight hybrids who can heal to full with 1 or 2 casts.

Hybrid healing is a huge joke as well, spriest doing 200k flashes with proc and 66k flashes (almost 11k more than what i do as a holy paladin)

the same thing with elemental shamans, i cant get my head around how they think thats a good idea :/
