Just thought I'd share my findings with you guys, game seems to be coming along really nicely.

well devs lower stats for begin of each xpac, hence why dmg is crazy

won't be as bad once players get better gear

I had a mage friend quit the game back in vanilla because he could no longer one shot people when they stopped you being able to use both +spell power trinkets at once...he was outraged.

Obviously the whole thing is a joke, but i'd like to point out everyone in the video is in full S12 arena gear (not honor gear) and the only thing thats missing is some enchants and we're running with Cata gems, so burst would actually INCREASE on live if this build were to go through unchanged.

Is the beta really that indicative of what the state of the xpac will be like?

It's not a good place to try and call out what classes are overpowered but if damage is too high across the board rather than in one place that can be indicative. It's more important to try and look which classes seem to have overpowered mechanics rather than overpowered numbers right now.

Rets and DKs are farr too mobile atm, i don't know if rogues and warriors share this. Shadowpriests have far too much survival and are basically unkillable, although their sustained dps has been nerfed a lot their burst is still sizable. Monks are ofc in a weird place. Holy priests do more damage than a dps. Thats about as far as i'm willing to spread judgement so far.

What about ret mobility has changed that they're "too mobile"? Is it because of the changes to dispell mechanics or is there something else I'm not aware of? Just curious, because slowing a ret down before was as simple as a dispell.

Not really, it was the complete opposite for the start of Cataclysm... I would prefer another season 5 than 40min long games every time like season 9.

I always thought the games were pretty damn fast, to be honest. Lots of cleave comps ended things pretty early.

Anyway, I disagree, because I prefer longer games to short ones. What you said just illustrates the type of player that is involved in the arena scene now, and it sucks.

I can't stand another season 5... it was awful.  Season 9 over season 5 any day of the week!
