Just imagine WoW dungeons with no tank or healer, but everyone has a 2 second melee range res. It is challenging and doable... but not in a way that's fun or rewarding.
Haha, that is exactly how I felt doing my first dungeon. :D "Well uhm ok, we have no real tanks, nor healers. The result: we die. and run in as long as it takes and we get everything zerged." Kiting is difficult if the mob switches targets on will and other players being stupid :D

But then again that's not the topic...

story to this:
The opponent team is U Moad Bro. They're on Gunnar's Hold with us and we queue some against them. They were playing a funky little strategy on here and got us to 450-400 with 1-0 caps + 2 contests in their favor. We somehow got a combination of kills, a short three cap and not dying to win this game by 1 point.
Imagine that at an MLG.

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee buddy 420 dank kush 360 no scope catch pikachu no pokeball that's what I'm saying.

Yeh, did not mean to insult you. Must've been a fun match.

Not insulted, it just is how it is. I'm not particularly satisfied with how you have to have Mesmers on Kyhlo either :P

Just for the record being able to have close games does not even remotely represent e-sports viability

Agreed on both counts. Hell League of Legends is one of the biggest esports out there and I have NEVER seen a close League match (granted I don't watch it all the time). In LoL the team who gets the first kill -- and the subsequent gold and leveling advantage -- always wins.

Basically having close games helps but as LoL has shown, it's not necessary.

There are definitely lots of one sided games, but there are plenty of close games as well. First blood isn't a huge deal, unless you're playing solo queue and people start raging and give up because of it, which is just pathetic.

There's been quite a few close games in competitive League. just happened 2 days ago in world champ group stage. A lot of the time the games are close then one team just gets better teamfights and doesn't lose their advantage, though some games are just all out brawls of back and forth teamfights :).
