The World of Warcraft Arena Pass is an annual online competition that has you battle thousands of other players in Arena combat for exclusive rewards such as the Vanquisher Title, the Armored Murloc in-game pet, and most importantly the bragging rights of being able to say that you're one of the best. Think of the World of Warcraft Arena Pass realm as the compressed and intensified version of what would happen if you stuck all the players that play Arena on ladders from different realms onto one, gave everyone access to make an Epic geared max level character of any class and let them duke it out to find out who was the best.
What makes the Arena Pass Realm much better than just playing arena on regular servers?
- Everyone has access to exactly the same characters and gear. When you create a new character, it automatically is raised to level 85. Not only that, but there are vendors in major cities and starting zones that give out epic gear. Everyone has access to the same thing on the Arena Pass realm, so no more losing because your opponents had much better gear.
- You can try out new classes and specs with the best possible gear and see if you've secretly got immense talent for playing a different class.
- You get a great opportunity to play with some new people. Are you stuck on a server or faction where there isn't a lot of PvP action going on? Fortunately, on the Arena Pass realm you will get a chance to play with a variety of players that you will meet along the way, and possibly even some experienced Gladiator, Rank One or even Tournament level players might join your group if you seek them out and convince them to play with you.
- The competition is intense! You will need to sharpen your skills and play at your best if you want to go up in the rankings, because the moment you step into the Arena, you run the chance of playing against some of the best Arena players in the world, the same people whose PvP movies and streams you've been watching for years now.
When does the Arena Pass End?
There are two stages:
During the Practice Phase you can do everything you'd usually be able to, but the teams you play on do not count toward the final rewards. It lasts from April 24 – May 8
The Ranked Ladder Phase lasts from May 8 - June 5, and the teams you'll create will count toward the rewards. Keep in mind that after May 22 you won't be able to register if you hadn't registered already or to switch teams on your existing characters.
What else is there?
Blizzard has announced yet another enticing feature: a level-90 Arena Pass realm. People that have bought this Arena Pass will later gain access to this all new Mists of Pandaria max level and epic geared characters realm. No matter what exactly that will entail, getting our hands on maxed level Mists of Pandaria characters to PvP on is very exciting.
