I think I'm gonna try and play in, I think event #43 and maybe a $1000/1500 NLHE event. And trying to win a seat for Main event from local cardroom/casinos.
Party at the Rio?

Friends wanted to go to Vegas to party, so I decided to go a few days in advance to try an event, too. Shooting for the main event next year.
(TR members get sweet deals on rooms. I'm lowest tier and I got a free suite Wednesday and $27 for Thursday.)

And FYI, WSOP Circuit means low buy-in events that happen in casinos that belong Harrahs in random cities outside Vegas.
I am gonna play a few WSOP sats because those are usually soft and sell since I am a huge tourney fish and -EV.

If it's a good experience, win or lose, I'm gonna go back next year and do more than one event.
And yeah. $27 for two nights, even though they're midweek, is pretty awesome in my opinion. I imagine higher tier TR members get better deals.

Things I'm considering for these long tourneys:
1) Bring some music but don't keep it on the entire time--don't want to miss valuable information. Just use it to get refocused.
2) Erring on the side of comfort when it comes to clothes.
3) Bringing healthy snacks and don't eat large meals. Basically nothing with grease 'cause I don't want to end up with an upset stomach.
After writing the last post I went to B&N just to look around. I impulse bought Negreanu's MORE tips and Phil Gordon's green, blue and gold books. I looked up the prices on Amazon later and saw I could save around 40 bucks. Still can return the books... but too lazy. Haha.

I agree. I just make sure I have a solid breakfast with carbs and I am fine afterwards throughout all my sessions.

Anyone know around what time day-3 of a $1500 NLHE tourney would end? My friends are arriving in Vegas on day-3 of the tourney, but I booked a couple of rooms for them at the Luxor. Obviously the Luxor would need my ID and credit card to check in that day. Check-in doesn't start 'til about 3, but I'm just wondering *if* I happen to make the final table, how long my friends might be waiting for me?
Probably doesn't matter, because if I final table then my friends wouldn't mind coming to watch haha.
