Ok so after waiting like 13 hours for my character to copy over to the beta servers, I finally had a chance to test stuff on MoP Beta.
First impressions of destruction: what the fuck is this?? I have 100k mana and incinerate costs 17.5k, and soul fire costs 38.5k mana?? How am I supposed to play a spec that makes me lose life tap(yeah, destro doesn't have life tap), has 7.7k mp5, when i can cast 1 immolate and 7 incinerates, and then I'm completely oom?
Looking for other opinions about how destro is supposed to work in MoP, maybe I missed something vital. Every spell except for soul fire doesn't even hit that hard really, considering you can barely cast anything before you go oom.
dmg on dummies with 11.462 SP and curse of elements(5%dmg)
Fel flame: 17k (ice lance of MoP lol)
Soul fire: 51k~ (it has 100% crit, and hits higher the more crit you have)
Soul fire+1: 106k (hits 119.34% harder with a burning ember, which takes 10 incinerates or 10 fel flames to build up, 5 if they all crit)
After testing a bit in a duel, i got my soul fire with an ember to crit 22k on a pvp geared ret paladin.
Yeah this spec seems horrible atm, or clearly bugged with mana numbers.
destro goes oom after 8 spells and doesn't do any dmg.
