Hi guys!

I'm well aware of the usual shot/AotH macros hunters use, but they are not perfect. The goal of these macros was to cut keybindings and maximize dps.

Quote

/cast !Aspect of the Hawk
/cast Arcane Shot
This works pretty well by itself, but problems occur when you use the Steady/Cobra Shot macro as well:

Quote

/cast !Aspect of the Fox
/cast Steady Shot
If you use Arcane Shot and try to Steady Shot right after, you won't be able to cast it on the move, because of the 1 second cooldown on your aspects, that triggered off your Arcane Shot macro - even if you already were in AotH!

Quote

So just use Concussive Shot, than proceed with Steady Shot.
We may do this, but it limits our play style somehow (even as a non-marksman) and it can be a waste of a GCD, if you specced into Concussive Barrage as MM, allowing you to daze enemies with Chimera Shot as well.
The macros just feel clunky and I hate them.

TLDR:
My alternate approach: One macro'd key to switch freely between all three interesting (hunter) aspects in PvP combat.

Quote

#showtooltip
/castsequence [nomod] Aspect of the Hawk, Aspect of the Fox
/castsequence [mod:alt] Aspect of the Cheetah, Aspect of the Fox
If you are in Hawk/Fox and press the key, you will change aspects to Fox/Hawk.
If you press alt modifier as well, you will end up in Cheetah. Useful, if you just disengaged and want to use the 60% sprint of Post Haze talent (MM) and you know, you won't get hit in that time (Deterrence, BoP, LoS).

Fox->Hawk: Press button
Cheetah->Hawk: Press button
Cheetah->Fox: Press alt+button
Hawk->Cheetah: Press alt+button
Fox->Cheetah: Press alt+button

My way: I just put Hawk as mouse wheel up and fox as mouse wheel down. I never go cheetah cuz you get the daze stacked onto another daze and it's brutal... Just thought I'd throw this in here cuz it's the easiest way I've found doin it without the auto aspect change macros :)

Yup, you can do that and it's really good as well, but if you really want to bind Cheetah, without adding a button, feel free to use the macro.
In your case, it would be two seperate buttons:

Quote

#showtooltip
/cast [nomod] Aspect of the Hawk
/cast [mod:alt] Aspect of the Cheetah

Quote

#showtooltip
/cast [nomod] Aspect of the Fox
/cast [mod:alt] Aspect of the Pack
This does the same, as your keys do now, but you also may use AotP/AotC.

Some things about Cheetah:
- it does stack with Post Haze (MM tree)
- if you get hit, you will get dazed, which is 70% slow (just like a rogue's)
- if you keep Cheetah active, even after getting hit, you will still benefit from the 30% speed bonus, making it a 61% speed penality
- Cheetah daze does not negatively stack with other means of slow (so if you used Cheetah, while afflicted with rogue poison, you would actually be moving with 39% speed, instead of 30%)
- with MoP the dazing penality may go away, and you will simply move with normal movement speed, when hit
- Cheetah is pretty safe to use with Camouflage or Deterrence up

Cheetah might not be making that big of a benefit, when using it now, but still it's a fun mechanic, promoting knowledge and skillful play.
