Dear fans of PvP!

I'd like to inform english-speaking community about amazing live-Tournament that happens in largest Russian realm. This is 2nd tournament in a row that we have launched and soon also the 3rd one is going to start. To avoid massive text of wall I'll give a link so you can watch an example of tournament games with our spectator and comments (sorry, they are russian :P).

Example of games from last weekend: http://www.own3d.tv/...G#/watch/256782 (Fakeyou playing in RMP vs Spellcleave).

2 days of great games already were played on last weekend! Today (and tomorrow) we are going to see the next series of games - they start here at 16:00 Paris time. Finals will be on the next weekend. Most of participating teams got players with multi first-rank titles and are most famous gladiators in Russian community!

Other info:
Tables, schedule, teams -  http://www.prestige-.../tournament/wow
Tournament structure - 2 groups of 6 teams each are playing group stage (bo3), first 4 teams in each group are going to quarter-finals (bo5) and tournament turns into single-elimination system. Also, to minize the risk of failure of top1 teams in each group they have a right to make a choice of first opponent (quarter-finals) among top2-4 teams in the opposite group. It motivates teams to do their best during group stage.
Games - are played 5v5 with 3 or 4 spectators, 2 of them are commenantors and 1 is streamer that focuses on picture and viewers visual satisfaction. Games are played via Wargames, we kill spectators, then we give 45 seconds for preparings (stacking absorbs, hots e.t.c is not allowed), during that team stay in their rooms and finally game is started. Looks like real spectator mode :)

Currently we are planning to give a few invites for EU teams to take a part in our 3rd tournament (prize pool probably would be even bigger). Characters of any class and best gear would be given to players if we would find very good and interested EU teams. If EU teams join our tournament - english speaking commentators that are able to spectate games would be found too (it could be anyone of you too!) ;)

Our best regards,
Russian commuinity.

It's nice to see some sort of event being made, especially with a prize, that's not provided by Blizzard D:

Goodluck to everyone

There are sometimes when the WoW PvP community drags itself out of the shit its been rolling in for last few years and does something good for the community, this is one of them.

Hope for more events and hopefully this will trigger something on other language servers in Europe and the US.

Tournament System

Tournament Stream: http://www.own3d.tv/...Prestige-Gaming

1. Qualifying Games. The strongest teams from the Russian community that have shown their skills season after season are invited to participate in the tournament. There are also some spots reserved for specific team setups that are open to any teams in an open bracket. Teams that are playing those setups and are willing to prove their skills will also get in the tournament.

2. Group Stages. Everything begins from the 12 teams playing group stages in a round robin format. The matches are bo3 (until two wins). The teams are divided into two groups and the groups are setup so that the teams present in each group are evenly divided. There is a ladder bracket with points, number of victories and losses. The purpose is to find the Top4 and Top1 team in each group.

3. Playoffs. The first four teams that placed highest in the Group Stages go off to the playoffs, and the teams that scored first in each group get to choose the team that they will play in the Quarter Finals.

Stream - The tournament is played in 5v5 War Games, with two teams and three commentators. One of the commentators is the streamer, the other two commentate. There is a unique Arena UI interface for the streamers, and the community is thankful to Fernir for making it.

Tournament Rules and other important information:

  • PvE Gear 391 or higher Forbidden
  • If a team is more than 15 minutes late without serious excuse (such as a real life situation) - Automatic Loss in the Match. A team that is late to three matches is removed from the tournament, and it's members won't have a chance to participate in the next tournament (Nov-Dec). Respect your opponents and fans, and be on time!
  • Judges/Admins: These are people who aren't participating in the tournament whose job it is to make decisions in unexpected situations, such as a Disconnect. The three judges are Gothiques (organizer-commentator), Demh (organizer) and Enarce. The Judge decisions are made by a vote and can not be disputed by players.
  • Map Selection: Each team has the right to ban one of the five maps.
The Map Order is: Nagrand Arena - Dalaran Arena - Ruins of Lordaeron - Blade's Edge Arena - Ring of Valor.
So if Dalaran and Ring of Valor were banned, the order would go: Nagrand, Ruins, Blade's Edge, and back to Nagrand and Ruins etc.
  • Team Check: At any time the Judges, organizers or Commentators have the right to join any of the team's Skype calls to check that the registered players are playing their characters.
  • Start of the Match: All players that can stealth are asked not to join it in the beginning of the match, and to wait for the spectators and commentators to be killed. After a 45 second countdown is given the teams return to the starting area. The teams are not allowed to prehot or pre-shield until the finish of the countdown.
