My intention with the thread wasn't to not give them credit but to talk specifically about Hunters atm and PHD.

I personally think that DK may have bested another in skill level, and that hpal is most likely the best I've ever seen.

Yeah I know, I wasn't directing that comment toward you, just everyone's reaction on forums in general :P

I gotta say I agree with Tosan about the DK's play. Not only did he perform his role almost perfectly, but he set up his teammates to do their's as well.

Also his AMZ's were fucking brilliant and made me weak @ the knees.

All the DK's I ever play with forget they even have AMZ until after someone on our team dies and they drop it on our corpse.  /sigh

It seemed like the action was following the hunter and paladin a lot more, and it was pretty rare for the commentators to mention him outside of necrotic stacks. But you're probably right because it's hard for a healer to position well if his team isn't also positioning well.
having played paladin for as long as I have, it is easy to say if I'm not playing with players that position well I get destroyed by control.  If I'm playing with people that constantly fall back and follow me when I call to move to different pillars it becomes really hard to lose.  Their team definitely realizes how important paladin positioning is and worked together as a team really well to make sure he didn't get caught in endless CC chains.

I doubt it. Hunters and Death Knights both have an exceptional amount of bad players.

He had PERFECT dark sims in every game too. Won a game because of a stolen sheep, forced so many CD's because of a stolen fear.

he stole Toez HOJ when it was 2v2, too; it's the reason they were able to kill him

did u see how the dk put AMZ insta when their pala got df'd in open los? that got me sayin holy shit, and also how he spellstole toez hoj in the 2v2 which actually resulted in them winning (wouldve been a loss for them otherwise)

but to be fair I'm not gonna credit 1 player and say he was doing the best work, their team was really coordinated it was like they were able to read eachothers minds/played a lot of games as phd

A lot of people will try and fail. Also, OMG's cooldown management/positioning was leagues better than anyone else's.

That teams positioning, awareness won them 75k the hunter and pally stuck together like glue and if they didn't have cds like ams/ibf ect. they didn't push in ontop the fact no amz/dark sim or roar was wasted. Best s-keyers ive ever seen lol

Yeah. The fact the Death Knight didn't just slam Gargoyle at the beginning of the match makes him better than 99 percent of Death Knights out there.

I still can't believe that they won. And I extremely wonder how this will change the future of some hunters. They don't have excuses anymore, have they?
But what did make OMG actually be that good?
Maybe Hunter teams are just more popular in korea for some reason.
I think the problem for all the teams facing 'em was that they're not used to play against hunters. I guess those people practice for such tournaments. But how to practice against a hunter team? There're none. Also, why should they practice against hunters? They are weak according to the community and even the ladders.
Maybe it's just a tournament thingy. I think I remember seeing weird setups on such tourneys from year to year.

At least I can say that this was by far the most exciting tournament I've ever seen and it made me wanna come back to this god-awful game.

I honestly don't think so. Hunters are strong when played by an incredible player at the moment, but that leaves what maybe five people?

It's not like ATC or Beast Cleave where you could just roll over your keyboard and do damage, you really need a lot of perfectly timed damage and cc to do what OMG was able to do today.

I know Blizzcon usually determines the FoTM after the tournament itself, but I simply don't think Hunters are in the state that people will be able to just easily pick one up or do substantially better with one than they would pretty much any other t1 ladder comp.

there will definitely be a rise because all the bads will look up to these players and have seen the potential that it can put out. the funniest part of all tho is the fact that they will never even reach glad rating playing it
