Everything I have seen has suggested that daggers out preforms swords, he may have gone with a hemo build for extra survivability and perhaps problems with landing backstabs on some of the best players in the world?

If you run hemo spec - swords, if you run backstab spec - daggers.

Simple like that.

I read this post this morning and now I'm sitting on enough conquest to buy my weapons on my rogue alt, but I want to find out more information on this before buying haha. I really want swords to be the way to go because that is pretty badass. However I just rented the mainhand sword and dagger to test it out and my hemos were hitting for 1k more damage with the dagge :\ maybe T2 weapons scale better with it or something but for right now I don't see any benefit from swords. Does anyone know what woundman's name is on live right now?

The reason that Woundman ran with a sword instead of a dagger is because his role in his conmp was to control the other teams casters. Hemo costs less energy which frees up energy for more kicks/cheap shots/kidney shots/gouges.

Here is the thing about sword, yes it does hit bit less than dagger when using hemo however sword has much higher chance to apply poison due to speed.

It is really not about weapon choice, it is about spec choice.

I personaly run backstab/hemo spec mix for waylay but w/o cheat death because i hate when crip gets dispelled and waylay is just reliable 100% chance to apply undispellable snare if you get backstab off.

Some people however do not have issue with shiving all day instead so they go for hemo spam and more survival.

It really depends on which comp you run and your playstyle.

If you really don't know what to take, buy honor sword and dagger, try both specs in duels/BGs (you call it) and see what you like more.

There are much better rogues than Woundman out there, his job was quite easy compared to Reckful's.

RLS vs. RDKS?

Pretty sure the fact that woundman had a dk on his team answers your question.

When I messed around with hemo in s9, sword seemed to outdo daggers in a few fronts. You get more magic damage from poisons, and I think (but could be totally wrong) ambush was hitting harder as well.

- Hey man, u lost. What's about it?
- Yo I made wrong house so robots cant laser strong enough so I lost
- And u dude u won!
- YEAH MY ROBOTS I LEARN ULTRA LASERS FOR EM SO I WON!

slightly more hemo dmg, slightly less ambush dmg compared to daggers. "slightly" being a two-digit dps difference for the two abilities @ 15 mins tdummy test.

Pretty sure the main pro of using hemo swords is easier energy management due to hemo's low energy cost.
