Oi, so I've noticed since the last patch that when ur schooled on shadow you're still able to use felflame to keep UA up, sounds like a dumb & eezfriendly change to me and needs to be reverted asap!

was wondering if its a bug or if its a change I havent read :x

It's a change in the 4.2 patch notes:

Spell Interrupts
When interrupted while casting a single-school spell such as Mind Flay or Frostbolt, players will now be able to cast dual-school spells such as Mind Spike (Frost and Shadow schools) or Frostfire Bolt (Frost and Fire schools). However, being interrupted while casting a dual-school spell will still interrupt all respective schools as intended.

The fact that shadow priests can cast mind spike while locked out of shadow is a pretty bad change, imo. I have much stronger feelings about that than locks casting fel flame while locked out of shadow.

It's prolly because felflame is a dual school ability (fire/shadow?).

Patch made it so when you got locked on either of those, you can still cast that ability.
Same is true for mind spike (frostshadow) n frostfire bolt (frostfire).

Why would you not like this change? With all the interrupts in the game now, it makes it much easier on us. I know a lot of us like to portray the illusion of enjoying a challenge, but when it comes down to it, this is a good buff considering the Soul Swap nerf.

The change is ok, because Fel Flame doesn't do any dmg at all, it is used to keep UA up. But SPs casting mindspike while being interrupted on shadow school is a joke. So where is the point interrupting a SP now? Would be a total waste of spellock/cs. I see a real problem here, with their burst being buffed, SPs comps (shatterplay and shadowplay) will rape.

I thought about posting that, but that's not preventing yourself from getting locked out. That's wasting globals.

obviously u dont know how to use it properly as it wouldnt be wasting globals, it'd be forcing a cs on fire so u can freely cast ur shadowschools

Who would lock out a searing pain on an aff lock? Only time is if the Searing Pain would kill someone.

I'd prefer to Fel Flame as it does more damage and I can use it as I get in position for fearing.

You lose credibility when you say I don't know how to do something properly when it's based on the other team fucking up.

If they HAVE to CS my fire tree, then we're going to win anyway. If they CS my fire tree because I WANT them to, it's them messing up.

I would call it "pointless" if I were proven wrong, but I am able to admit when I'm wrong.

i can say that i have accidentally cs'ed an afflic locks searing pain before just because of reflexes. again it was purely on accident. no person in their right mind would ever want to stop a lock from casting searing pain(hell even if he was destro). it does no dmg and its casted. let him waste time and effort and enjoy the 3v2 because using searing pain is just like removing yourself from the match.

I don't think this change is to the point where it actually changes optimal playstyle, just makes aff more comparable to other specs when locked out.

I don't think it's very retard friendly either, the better you keep UAs up the more this helps you when you are locked

Searing Pain damage is total shit, no good player will intentionally CS it unless their teammate is literally about to die and there's nothing else to interrupt. Obviously sometimes people will CS Searing Pain and whatnot but it's generally accidental and whenever someone does it to me I'm feeling like they made a pretty big mistake. I've had people spam Searing Pain or even cast Incinerates on TR but with Tongues up you can basically just laugh at them and wait until they start casting on Shadow >.>

Seems to me that any team that's consistently CSing your Searing Pains would be an easy win anyway unless I'm really missing something. Honestly it's basically impossible to avoid every interrupt against the best players who know how to hold their interrupt and have extremely good ping / reaction times simply because if you keep trying to fake it you'll just CC yourself and someone who's very good at it such as Reckful holds his interrupt until the last 5% or w/e of your cast so if you fake there then you're basically CCing yourself and if you don't you'll get interrupted or kidneyed or gouged and so on.

It's a nice change imo, but it doesn't really have much effect on anything other than allowing you to keep UA up easier while you're being trained really hard.

Just sayin..
