Trying up a resto shaman on TR.. I already use tar1-5/foc1-6

is shock 1/2/3 neccesary to play shamans at high levels and hex 1/2/3 or should I just slap them on focus? Anyways how about healing macros, is their like healing 1-3 or what.. Just give me a list of macros shamans use and let me know about the healing macros lol

I am not sure what you mean by "healing macros". Are you asking a general question of how to heal? Then you'll have
to look elsewhere and either get something that you are comfortable doing (whether it be healbot/some other addon, just clicking frames and healing, keybinding party member frames and then switching between them quickly, or mouseover healing, etc).

In regards to shock 1/2/3 arena enemies though, this would be ideal no doubt. But it may be too much keybindings to handle...you could just make it mouseover (though that's far more sketch). If it is too much, having a focus and normal shock will be fine. If you want to play top-notch arena then yeah you should make them. As for hex, though, this is not nearly as important - it wouldn't be "bad" per se but it seems overkill.

Otherwise the only other "macros" that are mandatory (that I can think of on the top of my head) are NS+GHW and NS+Hex.

nah binds arent the issue i have like a million on my rogue between macros... What totems should I have bound? And regards to healing I meant like what were the healing party 1/2/3 macros and which heals should I be using the most etc

Use Greater Healing Wave as much as possible, Healing Surge is quite terrible now with the 20% healing reduction to it.  Use Unleash Elements when you can predict large damage and follow it by a Gheal + Riptide for big numbers.  Bind flametongue, grounding, earthbind, strength of earth (Sometimes stoneskin depending on group makeup), tremor, wrath or air or windfury, healing stream totem.  Also helps to have one of your totem sets to have grounding + stoneclaw for a defensive CD in 1 global when getting focused.  You can add more totems where they seem to fit, but this should be good to start off with.

#showtooltip Wind Shear
/cast [target=focus, exists] Wind Shear; Wind Shear;

Best macro for me!

#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/cast [mod:alt,@target,nodead,harm][@focus,nodead,harm][]wind shear

is a better way to write it. this will shock firstly your focus target if it's alive and an enemy and if you have no focus will shock your target. holding alt however will make it shock your target even if you have something different focused. (could make it [mod:alt,@mouseover] if you preffered)

#showtooltip
/cast [mod:alt,@player]Cleanse Spirit;[@mouseover,harm,nodead][harm]Purge;[@mouseover,help][]Cleanse Spirit

is another handy shaman macro for me. two in one cleanse/purge macro.

Fakecasting with SG, pretty simple but people seem to forget it and never fakecast while SG is up :P

#showtooltip Spiritwalker's Grace

/cast [help,nodead][@player]Unleash Elements

Prevents Unleash Elements from bugging.

Maybe make it

#showtooltip
/cast [mod:alt,@player][@mouseover,help,nodead][]unleash elements

Can get rid of the [@mouseover,help,nodead] if you don't want it. This would save having one seperate bind which only casts  unleash on yourself then another for your team mates.

or just hit stop casting keybind instead of getting rid of the buff?

Focus hex, focus purge, focus wind shear, self cleanse macro and for my partners.

#showtooltip Purge
/cast [harm, nodead] [target=targettarget,harm,nodead] Purge

Purges your friends target if you have him targeted, also works as a normal purge when you have an enemy targeted.

#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/cast [@arena1-5] wind shear

Also including stopcasting for normal wind shear, focus wind shear and grounding totem.

/stopcasting
/cast nature's swiftness
/cast Greater Healing Wave

Instant heal with 1 button.

That's about it.

That macro doesn't get rid of the buff. It's just to make /stopcasting the same keybind as SG since at least I don't have any extra keybinds left :P

Thanks all real great feedback. So for higher rated shamans do you guys use greater hw party 123 etc or do u have target macros for them and have gwh on one bind.

if u played priest before just like me, im using a dispell magic - like macro , with a shift modifier to dispell myself

#showtooltip
/cast [nomod, harm] purge
/cast [nomod, noharm] cleanse spirit
/cast [mod:shift, @player] cleanse spirit

i know its not well written and all, but works 100%
