Essentially amounts to an 8 percent nerf for Howling Blast and about a 7 percent nerf to Necrotic Strike.

Looks like frost will still be king, assuming these are the only changes Blizzard does. They are pretty notable changes, though.

Jus keep it the way it is, 8% is rather laughable =)

Season 8 Summary: If you saw Flame Shock & Immolate on yourself for more than 2 seconds, the next thing you should see would be a -15.

People say this every single time something gets nerfed or buffed without realizing how big these small percents actually are in this game. Remember that it was a mere 10 percent buff that made shamans go from good to insane.

Another way to look at it is that this essentially reverts half of the Howling Blast buff from 4.1.

The only downside to the Necrotic Strike nerf affects unholy, so unholy will still be behind frost.

Yeah, I just tested it and it's definitely not hotfixed in. I hope they do later tonight.

They should be nerfing Pillar of Frost, not Necrotic Strike

Maybe? at least i hope so - although i doubt it!

But yeah, Pillar of Frost's CD has to be increased at least i think.

Offtopic: I think it's the first patch with no buffs / nerfs to warriors =)

That would hurt PVE too much.

I'm glad Blizard acknowledges the problem. I guess these changes definitely aren't final because they don't solve any problem other than Shadowfrost 2.0 outshining Obliterate on single target in 4.2 (in a PvE setting), but under these numbers Shadowfrost would remain better as soon as there's a 2nd target.

It's also a poor fix to Necrotic Strike (scaling is the problem, not actual numbers. a pure %AP formula will *never* work out in the end), but a fix regardless.

Well Blizzard has opened the door with 100% Colossus Smash in PvE but 50% in PvP already. So it is not out of the question for similar tuning to happen to other classes.

Forceful Deflection is now named Strength to Parry Conversion and now increases your Parry Rating by 27% of your total Strength, up from 25%.

Rofl wtf is up with the name? Let's change all names to "Talent points to strenght" and the like.

Proper changes would require NS losing CoT effect. Death Grip from 1 yard to interrupt every 25 seconds needs to be addressed too. A class that does monster damage with the ability to break the majority of peels/ccs will have to kill a healer without %30 cast reduction and 1 yard DG interrupt. 1 min strangulate, 10 sec mindfreeze and if required Hungering Cold is enough already. If they wanna make the class reasonable, they should start by making these changes.

%8 nerf to HB nice but Frost Strike remains untouched, which is unfortunate.

I remember back when this game was somewhat decent and you know, it didn't matter during theorycrafting if you buffed/nerfed a PVP spec, because you know, that spec was you know, probably not used for PVE.
