The times where I've spent 7 hours playing a game straight just to progress, are over for me. There are more and more games coming out where it's more about the skill and less about the hours you put into it. And people see that.

Most companies would call only losing 5% or your subscriptions when a new competitor (Rift) comes out during a slow time in content a success.

They said nothing about inactive accounts though, and I bet that number alone is a lot higher than 600k.

Does that count the ban wave of archaeology bots? I'm sure almost all of the 600k are just bored PvErs and Rift players not pvpers.

So, i play Arms Warr / Holy Paladin in 2s, and we are both equally experienced about 2.3k ,basically we are having problems meeting pretty much any setup with a holy paladin , it is impossible to win against warr/pala

That ban went out more than a month an a half ago right? So I'd assume so. Just the thing is that the number most likely will not be going up any time soon. Plus, almost everyone I know that got banned for that bot got new accounts... lol

Inactive accounts are not counted towards the 11.4/12 million, smth you'd think people would know by now.

Dropping 600k after massive banwave/no content for months in a 6 year old game "might" sound alot for a game like everquest.

Though the fact that Blizzard still has 11.4 mill subs after 6 years isnt exactly the end of blizzard.

Tho I guess if they pulled numbers right after 4.2 it'd be back up to close 12 million anyhow.

a good quarter of these are probably from the arch ban, its probably a bigger ban toll then what most of you think.

I think people are downplaying this a bit. At the very least, this looks bad to investors, and Activision/Blizzard's current leadership is almost entirely beholden to their investors.

I would expect pve content to start coming out more quickly in an effort to keep another spike in closed subscriptions when Firelands content is in a lull. Wishful thinking, but they might also release smaller pvp tiers/more seasons to keep up.

This is all optimistic to the point of foolishness, really, but if you think Blizzard is going to make an effort to improve as a result of this, pvp can't really get worse.

Right? I hope...

Only I had a grand total of five irl friends banned, six others with a total of 11 banned from it.
Small social circle on a dead shitrealm, I would consider the banwave playing a huge role in the amounts of players that stopped.

Most of the losses are probably from bans and people with multiple accounts not having both active anymore like myself. Also gold farmers not being able to play the market anymore because blizzard makes everything easy to farm yourself now so the prices have dropped so gold farmers don't need 200 accounts each lol.
