Abilities are randomly ignoring resilience (Please bump the bug report thread to get this fixed)

Pretty much everyone I know — including rogues — is saying rogues are doing very high damage right now. It seems unusually high considering the only buff should be about 2 or 3 percent more damage after the resilience nerf.

Acrobatics is saying he is getting 35,000 Ambush crits in both arenas and on target dummies. Could rogues be randomly ignoring resilience in arenas? I know Unstable Affliction and Mind Blast are having similar problems.

Please note I'm saying this seems to be random. It might only be affecting some people, and it might not happen all the time. People have reported similar randomness with Unstable Affliction and Mind Blast, after all.

An example of what I'm talking about with Unstable Affliction ignoring resilience: http://i64.photobuck...sh/UADispel.jpg. Kind of hard to read, but here is what it says: Insanitiee-Kel'Thuzad's Unstable Affliction hits Rebeccablack for 39907 Shadow.(6104 Overkill).

Anyone done any other testing? It's bizarre.

anyway, it wouldn't surprise me if this bug stretched beyond specific classes and applied to all

Rogues are just too good overall, nothing new.

Watching the video right now, hit play before it got removed. Who is jealous?

Basically Erase playing rogue/rogue/mage and they kill someone on the other team in the cheapshot virtually every time.

Hmm, I soloed a KFC shaman on my rogue yesterday from 100 to 0 in a kidney shot. Thought he was just bad geared, but this could explain it.

Didn't notice any massive difference in damage from pre-patch.

Edit: I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were ignoring resilience due to faulty coding on the part of find weakness(makes rogues ignore armour).

Attacks are randomly ignoring resil, can't find any correlation, happens with any(or a lot of) class.

That theory has merit. There's a good chance that coding Resil to have diminishing returns involved a lot of copy-pasting from the formula/functionality of armor.

Then again, I've seen pretty consistent 45k mind blast crits.

haven't experienced any abnormal damage in the 30 or so 2s games ive done so far
Go up to a fat chick, ask her for a pen... then tell her to get back in it cos the farmer will be looking for her.

I played today 2s as lock/Rsham vs lock/Druid

The amount of damage from dispelling the ua was (27k - 27k-27k-38k-22k-27k-48k-27k) .. And all of them without demon soul

Bro, have you heard of an item called Unheeded Warning?

Just from personal experience I've not seen a 35,000 crit with my ambush in arenas, more like 20,000-28,000 with Unheeded Warning procc and the PvP agility use trinket.

Rogues have a talent that reduces a targets armor with 70% which is pretty substantial versus a plate-wearer. That could also be the reason, or you're friend is just not using enough resilience for his class or something.


You can say that it's a bit "bizarre" but compared to other damage outputs I don't really see any big issue. You just don't have the chance of using extra PvE gear now with the resilience buff/nerf (depends on how you look at it) unless you're willing to trade higher damage / higher mana regeneration or whatever for a hell of a lot more damage taken.

And as far as I know, rogues aren't ignoring resilience in arenas.

If you're stupid enough to dispel every UA and die, you don't deserve to play this game.
