Until you catch the rogue and he dies instantly. We used rogue FC until the 25% debuff on flag carriers then went to prot, and would have swapped sooner if we had a prot then. Rogue would be the last FC we would use, you can't rely on kiting especially when it's a class thats going to instantly die when they actually connect to him. I'm pretty sure if I caught a rogue FC in a dance/bomb I could solo him with the 25% dmg increase, and if I couldn't I would have a warrior beside me critting him for half his health an attack.

I have to somewhat agree on the part where rogues have a harder time defending when debuff is up. But the thing is that you can easily make it through the first phase with just the rogue and two /three healers defending and therefore having lots of offensive pressure.

when a person doesn't enter arena until the gates open ( like it ends up in 2v3 ), the arena match isn't counted and is automatically a draw when the gates open ( without the annoying -16 for both teams ), thus no one gains or loses pts/MMR.

I would've loved this back in s5/s6 when my microwave would interfere with my router if someone started using it so I had a rule that nobody was allowed to use the microwave while I did arena.

Basically what Audiyo said.

Rogue carrier worked great until the movement speed debuff hits. The mobility is insane, especially if you played the spec I did with dual imp sprints. The problem is you're totally fucked after the debuff. Your mobility is gone and you die a lot easier than the other popular fc classes.

Rogues seemed about on par with prot warriors and dks until people started hitting around the 4k resilience mark, at which point (pre auto 25%) those carriers were still a bitch to kill after the first debuff landed.

Before the debuff hit I could just run the best horde teams around the map. Throw in Z-axis and it was easily the most fun and in my opinion skill oriented carrier to play.

I've swapped to a blood dk for the sake of competition. I'm harder to kill with the new debuffs now, playing 3 healers instead of 4, than I was on my Rogue. Rogue was the king of avoiding damage, but you just can't avoid it reliably once the debuff lands.

I'll stick to my assertion that its unfair how the debuff effects a class like a feral druid carrier while a prot warrior loses zero of their substantial mobility. They should take the movement speed reduction out completely. It's a crutch for the offense.

Well the post was made assuming you have access to a highly skilled rogue and no tanks to use otherwise like we do :P Also with the rogues avoidance and ability to kill people off quickly with the help of a spriest and 2 healers on defense, it allows us to run a very offensive flag return team. So something always dies in that first debuff, we rush in and get a kill on que. I do miss smokebomb on offense, but to be honest it fails a lot and you don't really need it with good players ccing properly.

I've ran blood dk, prot warrior, rogue flag carriers. They are all viable, but the point was really that you can bring the most skilled player of them all, rather then just /crying because you can't get someone to go prot spec for rateds. Its a viable option. Perhaps not to 3200 ratings, but most people here aren't playing to that rating :P

Edit: Someone misunderstood my post :P

5 healers? horrid person!

Last few days we've had a near 100% ratio with:

D: Prot warr, Hpal, Rsham, Rdruid
O: Rogue, dk, mage, mage, lock, disc

Depending on the other team one of the mages can rotate back.

Most annoying team we faced was a bunch of pve champs with full heroic gear (39k chimera shot?) on the "new" version of wsg, as alliance they ran prot, 3 healers and a boomkin on the upper level :(

You shoudl not need that many healers. Swap 1-2 out for DPS games go smoother. A dps on defense helps a lot, and the extra dps on offense helps a lot as well.

Just started playing some RBGs with the following comp:

D: Prot warrior, resto shaman, holy pala, disc priest
O: Rogue, Mage, Mage, Warrior, Warlock, Shadow priest

We have some other classes to swap in/exchange. Yet we had some trouble last night in AB. We all have absurdly high mmr and played against pve heroes like method, which we unfortunately lost. Did 15-5 with that comp.

This isn't what we always run due to lack of people. But from what i've played and played against I think the best setup for Twin Peaks / WSG is.

D:
Prot Warrior
Frost DK
Disc Priest
Resto Shaman
Holy Pala

O:
Frost Mage
Affi Lock
Shadow Priest
Rogue
Moonkin

If your opponents are defending with 2 dps instead of 1 its best to either have your Moonkin go Resto before the match starts (if you know the setup of the team your facing) or switch the Moonkin with one of the healers in Defence (Priest or Shaman) and then fight up top.
