Spirit Link Totem (new talent) reduces damage taken by all party and raid members within 10 yards by 10%. This lasts 6 seconds, and every second it is active the health of all affected players is redistributed among them, such that each player ends up with the same percentage of their maximum health. This counts as an Air totem and has a 3-minute cooldown.

It seems blizzard has finally seen fit to to give us Spirit Link next patch. What I want to know is what do other shamans think about it? 6 seconds and 10 yard range with a 3min c/d isn't the survivability I was thinking when we asked for survivability cooldowns. And since it is talented in resto we can assume ele and enh won't have access to it. We can also assume since its a totem that it will have 5 health and will be easily stomped.

Seems a little underwhelming but at the same time it is a step in the right direction, what do you guys think?

i'm not a shaman expert at all, but "every second it is active the health of all affected players is redistributed among them, such that each player ends up with the same percentage of their maximum health." seems like a pretty awesome cd.

this cd is awful it only affects players in a 10 yard range and the totem is most likely will die in 1 hit

Well it all depends really on fast health is redirected, if it's all at once this totem may be too good, if it's 10% per sec then its not TOO bad. When I first read it my brain kinda overheated and it thought it was pretty bad. But now I think this is actually gunna be a pretty decent cd. I'll be testing it once the PTR comes back up so more feedback then. Worst case this totem is painful to use vs locks but I have a good feeling about this.

Resto shamans are already nearly on par with resto druids since the 15% healing buff. Resto shaman #1 healer again inc, without ele changes ill probably start playing resto again.

Resto shamans didnt even need this buff, let alone something this amazing. The fact this community is complaining about this unneeded buff is laughable at best.

Are you smoking the crack pipe? This is amazing. It will act as second NS at the very least.

But I agree with you that this is not what shamans needed. They shouldve gotten a barkskin ability.

Shamans have always lacked a defensive cooldown ability, where as every other healer has one. Whether or not this is the answer, thats to be debated on. I liked the empower shields idea. Or a barkskin of some sort, just another reason for people to QQ about shamans.

I cant believe shamans arent totally psyced about this ability. Sure it has a 13 yards range but there are so many situations in which atleast one of your partners is in that range.
The speed of the health transfer is going to make or break this ability though.

Isn't this a good change vs. melee cleaves, that shamans have trouble with? Assuming melee are on you, and you're running melee/caster/healer, your melee will be peeling their melee, and you will be within 10 yards of your partner. Doesn't that guarantee that during those 6 seconds, you cannot die unless they do enough damage to do your hp + partner's hp?

I'm still confused with how it works, but I like their idea of adding another totem. Shamans really need some non pve totems. I don't get why ele/enh can't use this totem tho, esp ele, considering eles awful survival.

This is decent, but it's not as big as some may think. The 10 yard range is going to make it pretty limited in PVP. Plus, since it's a totem, it can probably be destroyed pretty easily.

well, it only lasts 6 sec. its pretty much like a purgeable BoP but instead, more people will have access in getting rid of it. However, stoneclaw should be able to prevent it from getting smacked.

The most effective part of this totem is done in the first second, after that it's just icing on the cake.
