Disc talent Absolution: "Enables your dispel magic spell to be cast on friendly targets to remove 2 harmful magical effects"

I will literally rage if our dispel is removed without any sort of compensation.

Warrior survivability is overpowered entirely due to self-healing, though. That can only be changed by nerfing Blood Craze and Second Wind.

we don't really need any compensation though losing the ability to dispel dots/roots etc off ourselves at least will be goddamn terrible.

I knew this shit was coming. I sincerely hope they're going to unfuck our dispel protection, because otherwise there is no reason anyone should take a shadow priest over a warlock in patch 4.1.

Thankfully, mine is already level 70.

Healer talent bro.

yes its in disc. but if you read the change absolution lets your dispel magic remove 2 buffs offensively and lets defensive dispel be cast on others, normal dispel non talented is only able to be casted on Yourself

hence shadow can remove several annoying things off of themselves

let me put it this way I just plain didn't dispel anything defensively because I hadn't set my binds up for shadow for like 30 games and still did extremely well (for someone with 0 prior cata arena experience anyway), hanging around 2400-2500. i'd say we'd be alright... dot protection is a big issue, but I think we're still balanced with shitty dot protection.

Well that not the only problem. It definitely makes lock better in like every comp again and it makes our class terribly boring. Hardly any cc management, even less pet management, we're just gonna spam dmg and chase ppl around for fears lol. I always thought they should just make dispels in general on a fairly short cd or something...

This literally is the ONLY thing that gives shadow its OPness in 3s. Without defensive dispel there is NO reason to bring a spriest to any comp. It probably will not be worth the mana to use offensive dispel either since it now removes 1 instead of 2 buffs (look how well that worked out for shamans). Without compensation for this we're done lol.

yeah you're right with the playstyle being really 1 dimensional. spend the whole game chasing a healer around hoping he fucks up, spam dmg, shield whoevers being attacked and silence at a good time and that's the class :/

I still think our dmg is super good though, best in the game right now other than warriors and we have a defensive cd that isn't far from being as good as AMS, so at least we have something going for us

that's just not true at all though try playing without using defensive dispel I bet you still win most of your games ;)

Will warlocks be better? probably yeah. Will spriests still be good? I pretty much guarantee they will be.

luckily, you can't dispel while crowd controlled or while under pressure to heal unless you are a shaman. not saying dispels aren't an issue, they are, but even though it's hard to make our dots stick it's not impossible to get them to.

I agree that paladins and perhaps druids might not have room to dispel if they're pressured to heal, but both priests and shamans certainly will. In fact, both of these classes are such hard counters to shadow priest damage that removing their defensive dispel leaves no reason to bring one over a warlock.
