Played about ~45 arena games today at ~2.5k as rmp and, as a whole, I liked what i saw. The bloodlust change hurts rmp's initial burst but as a whole I would say its a wash, we are still able to get our burst off when needed and 9/10 we aren't landing a kill in the first 30 seconds of the game.

Disc priest changes are great, pre-patch it used to be 50/50 as for who got trained on our team, myself or the priest, but now I am trained 99% of the time with the occasional swap to my priest. Our survivability is still meh, I think ice barrier really needs some help, but its manageable.

Shadowcleaves are now pretty beatable, its no longer get the kill in the first 30s or die, you can now stand toe to toe with them for a fairly long amount of time if you dont get the initial kill off the bat. Mage teams, just as they were pre patch, are almost an auto win with the exception of equally skilled rmp mirrors. Melee cleaves are in the same category as shadowcleaves, they can no longer pop wolves as the gates open and land a kill by zerging the priest through cc's and cooldowns in the first 5 seconds of the match.

PHD variants, however, blow us out of the water. Hunter/dk damage is simply too much to contend with at the moment. 1 cc train on your healer post-blocks and its over.

Overall, I wouldn't be so quick to elevate rmp status to tier 1 comp status just yet, but it is definitely leaps and bounds better than what it was pre patch.

Went about 250 points up today, with the combination of the priest buffs and gearing more for resil RMP seems pretty string. I agree about not being sure about a tier 1 comp, though.

Mage burst is way to low after patch. That causes difficulties killing locks-making lock teams a pain in the ass.

Also any team with hunter will rape mages 100% in less than 30 sec. The remove of bloodulust was good for arena ,but hurt mages a lot because ice lance was nerfed, and frostbolt buffs were non existent.

Mages have the same problem as in WOTLK: way to low dmg and hard to set burst.ALso in adition to this now mages are way easier to train. Because of this comps with mages won't be a viable choice from my point of view.

Locks were never viable to kill for mages even pre patch as rmp. Rogue/lock variants are a bitch, but their healer is still killable, even if it is an uphill battle.

The damage nerfs to mages are as drastic as you make them out to be. They hurt us, yes, but our burst is still there.

Agreed, we need to be given more of a reward dmg wise than we currently are for setting up frostbolt shatters.

wasn't tooo impressed with rmp against certain teams in particular
don't really want to touch arenas as a mage at this point

ps: 60k instant RANGED damage in 1 sec is fun

It's called "Ouch".
It basically just records damage taken for your entire party with timestamps and color coding.

Our Warrior got a heroic throw for 32k yesterday. We had to pull up combat logs to see why he died. Melee is the new ranged dps, didn't you hear? :P

Havent rly faced any hunter teams so far, from what I can tell RMP is better then be4, more room to outplay your opponent and less random, went from 2710-2770 in like 1 hour of play thanks to patch.

What kind of comps did you run into?



We ran into to mostly RMP and 1 WLD and a mage hunter druid team, and some dk ench druid and a few shadowcleaves with resto druid /shamans.

I played some RMP for the first time in about 5 seasons last night. Generally feels like it has a lot of potential, but some of the teams, especially shadowplay, feels like a real uphill battle.

VS Shadowplay our experience was that landing sheeps was insanely difficult, so kills really had to revolve around getting a good ring of frost and / or a good fear on at least 2 of them.
