I'll probably be getting torrent on my t2. I'm an engineer so pairing the proc of torrent with the usage of synapse springs with a divine plea next patch will provide a decent bit of extra burst mana regen. Overall the difference isn't going to be very big and will probably come down to preference. Torrent is really expensive atm though because of the cost of maelstrom crystals.

From a healer perspective:
I'm assuming an average cast of 2 sec, as most heals seem to be 1.5 sec or 2.5 sec. Simple math puts 1/proc chance * 2 + ICD as time-to-proc.

Power Torrent:
45 sec ICD, 33% proc chance. Roughly 51 seconds between procs, lasts 12 seconds, means ~24% uptime, or 120 intellect. Factor in that you do not get the benefit of using 7500 extra mana during the procs, and this is weaker than that.

Heartsong:
20 sec ICD, 25% proc chance. Roughly 28 sec between procs, lasts 15 seconds, means ~54% uptime, or 108 spirit. Unlike Power Torrent, you get the full benefit of the spirit gained during combat.

Hurricane:
45 sec ICD, ~12.5% proc chance. Roughly 61 sec between procs, lasts 12 seconds, means ~20% uptime, or 90 haste.

Personally, I'd recommend Heartsong for healers. I'd prefer to have spikey regen than spikey healing (since regen is going to even out over a period of time, while your healing is going to only matter until the target is at full health). Haste procs also tend to screw with my precasting, and Power Torrent just doesn't appeal to me as Int on gear provides benefits that int bonuses mid-combat do not.

one of my RL friends did the calculations too, so eyah

This means power torrent has sort of a higher "itemlevel" but isnt that consistent so you cant always count on it especially in longer games where the game is ruled by mana, which was not the paladins problem right now. Might change with the 10% cost nerf.

i'll probably stick with heartsong, gonna need the mana regen more than ever with mana nerfs and never was the person to really rely on plea cause of 2 reasons:

-sometimes have to cancel halfway thru cause of the ridiculous 50% healing debuff (reduce to 25% atleast pls)
-dispel/spellsteal

Yea still Heartsong for me. I'd rather get Heartsong on my wep and squeeze in an extra point of crit from trinkets/gear.

mana regen is something you'll always want to have during a fight.
intellect is something you'll want to have in some special situation, for example burst pressure from opponent team; power torrent is random proc so it can be usefull one time and useless ten times.

you have to know that intellect is also a manaregen stat but there are healer that take more advantage from power torrent such discipline priest because they have talents with +%intellect that stack with power torrent.
paladin dont have any +%intellect talent anymore so for a paladin is less usefull than a priest disci or a resto druid (both have +%intellect multiplier)

in my opinion heartsong is way better for a paladin pvp prospective.
Time is what you make of it

Yeah and I think that healers will have more use for heartsong anyways.
