good luck putting out pressure with a DK on you that you either A) can't peel or B) can instant root you off a pillaring shaman :(

Unless Locks see some kind of nerf vs Magic damage or DKs see
some kind of cut to self saves, self healing, DPS or moblity any DK/Lock comp will be a brick wall for teams with a Mage.

Edit: Not that any Mage comp has a chance against it even now. Maybe Shatterplay, but that's on account of Shaman Dispel being all kinds of broken.

makes me lol how the warlock forums are full of complaints about how overpowered mage armor is and how the nerf to 35% is not nearly enough

My personal opinion about why PHD/ATC/Beastcleave are not being that succesful on Tournaments is that in many cases it relies on the enemy making an error...In a sense, that makes them the underdog...Hunter's have never really been that OP. People just have the image that hunters should be something to be stomped over

"we beat this class with 50%+ hp left and all of our comps rape them in arenas.  mage armor so overpowered."

Shatterplay can't beat a good shadowcleave on live right now

This exact situation is why I was so adamant that Mages didn't need significant nerfs other than the iCoC/SB bug fix... as far as I'm concerned, Mages no longer have a top tier comp next patch

I assumed as much, but was giving the benefit of the doubt.

Overall I'd say this patch is still a slight buff to Mages, with the changes to melée moblity, nerfs to self healing and changes to dispel. We will continue to struggle with DoT comps, but we've been doing that for almost five years now.

Also this is unlikely to be the last set of changes before the patch goes live.

I'd maybe agree, but only due to how potent Warlocks are right now, and I'm still hoping to see a nef to their passive tanking before the end of these changes.

we weren't trying to kill locks pre-patch and we still won't post-patch so that's irrelevant, it just makes us maybe able to beat locks 1v1.  DKs got a huge self healing buff and will be unkillable and unkiteable in 3v3 (they're already unkillable as shatterplay, now they're unkiteable and harder to kill when i play with a warrior)

I personally wasn't having many problems with Warriors or Ferals, the only two classes to get mobility nerfs, but maybe that's just my comps.  It is enhance cleaves, and DK cleaves w/ resto shaman, that feel unbeatable.

Which are both comps we've struggled with for a long time now. It'd be nice to see something change about that, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Yeah, good point.  I guess my question should have been, what comps are you losing to now that you think you'll do better against post patch?  I can honestly say I can't think of a single one... maybe TSG?  but Fury TSG variants will probably be stronger than ever, and rShaman losing bloodlust will make them overall more effective
