Any sort of hope I had after reading blizzards initial cata assessment is now gone. They have no idea what the fuck they are doing.

The glyph doesn't even make sense because one of their goals this patch was to nerf self-healing. They even nerfed Lichborne.

What a stupid idea.

Chains + Desecration everyone on the floor + DK's walking around with a snare like nothing is on them makes me tremble. Some scary shit right there. It's balanced around Resto Shaman's because they only have Frost Shock as a snare. Compeltely unbalanced for DK's with their merriad of snares and a 25s Death Grip.

So raging blow is going from 110% damage to 145%? Cool, had a warrior crit me for 42k with it on live, can't wait for the 50k+ crits come this patch.

I really doubt this will make it live.

Warrior survivability is overpowered entirely due to self-healing, though. That can only be changed by nerfing Blood Craze and Second Wind.

I doubt you can really call it a buff considering CC is being nerfed as well, I assume they are trying to balance the "damage" that is lost by someone coming out of a CC 2 seconds earlier.

And/or maybe they felt that the numbers right now weren't that impressive considering people are still around around 1k resilience to go when everyone is in full Vicious gear.

Again, keep in mind that this only data-mined information, which is typically wrong in regards to ability coefficient changes.

The mage buffs are kind of worrying, though. Hopefully the complete patch notes have some notable nerfs.

The mage buff has an addition:

Official Blizzard Quote:

Frost Specialization now also increases the damage of Frostbolt by an additional 15%. However, if will decrease your Frostburn mastery by 6.
I don't really know what that means, but I'm guessing it makes up for the buffs.

Frostburn
All your spells deal 20% increased damage against Frozen targets.  Each point of Mastery increases damage by an additional 2.5%.

Then, as I take it, the buffs to Ice Lance/Frostbolt will increase it's damage against non-frozen targets but keep it inline/nerf/further increase it against frozen targets. Not sure of the number's for the mastery, that's why I included all three possibilities.

If I'm understand it correctly, it would basically nerf the mastery by 15 percent, which matches the buffs exactly.

Basically, non-frozen damage will increase, and frozen damage will remain the same. Makes sense.

While that's better than what was previously thought (15% dmg increase ALL THE TIME), it's still not needed. They should increase Mages damage done to non-frozen targets and slightly nerf their frozen target damage.

15% ice lance damage nerf on novad/deep frozen people, same damage with fingers up

15% frost bolt damage buff on non-frozen people, damage identical on deep freeze/roots

They are nerfing burst and increasing normal damage slightly should you cast successfully. It encourages frost bolt casts.

that is still a net dmg buff for frost mages. how is that remotely acceptable. their dmg should be nerfed not buffed in any way

Not quite...

I's basically a 15% damage nerf to frostfire bolt and ice lance if ice lance and frostfire bolt are being cast into a frozen target, (unless fingers of frost is active in which case ice lance damage remains unchanged) and a 15% flat increase to frostbolt damage when not casting into a frozen target.

So less damage overall, and damage output is being shifted from instant damage, to actual casted damage. I'm ok with that.
