I'm stuck between 4 classes: Hunter, Rogue, Mage and Warrior and I must choose 1. My choice depends on their skill cap and how high/low it is, so I really want to know: what's the skill cap of those 4 classes?

I think it will be easier if you describe it in a "1-100" way for each. Thanks!

I feel like there may be some disagreement here but...

Hunter-85
Mage- 75
Warrior- 60
Rogue- 80

On a scale of 1-100.

ill put it in 1-10 for you..

Hunter - 5
Warrior 8
Rogue - 9
Mage 8.5

while cata damage is absurd with mages atm .. put a mage in the hands of a seasoned gladiator / mage and you will have one hell of a force to be reckoned with its not only the burst but the control that can completely shut down a team stopping them dead in their tracks

rogue id say is one of the harder classes to play due to all the shit that was broken with them the changes to their ability to lock down and for being leather workers were quite squishy - the recup ability has changed things in a major way would still argue rogue is one of the higher skilled classes to play on a high level

Warrior .. might be a shocker to a lot of people but a warrior is not exactly the easiest class to play .. any person can spam random damage and get really high numbers and demolish the other guy if he has little to no skill - but a warrior like say barb / thor / rhoz / hoodrych you can see them taking warrior to the next level.. knowing when to go D - predicting damage coming in on you knowing when to survive (cool down usage) knowing when to dump your rage when to pool it when to pull back etc

hunter - im a mage .. i have a biased opinion :> but i did try to play one on the tournament realm and it was a little more difficult than i thought although not absolutely hard i did find trouble chaining certain abilities together and putting out big pressure .. although cloth fell over to me like nothing.

personally Deathknights are going to really pick up come Cata .. id choose that and one other class to play if you are playing a melee now why not try a ranged?

Np, I'm interested to see more as well.

and yes, Hunter higher than Mage and Rogue.

The point of this post was to say what you think about the 4 respective classes, don't make this into an argument, thanks.

Well we can split those to 2 groups,

hunter and mage are more likely crowd controling chars (hunter with cds but still), so this is the major diffrence between warrior/rogue.

I personally think that it depends on what role you want to fit. I think that warrior/rogue are better leaders inside arena just because of playstyle they have.
For example its hard for mage to poly target1, cs target 2, make sure target 3 is rooted and maybe deal some dmg meanwhile, same goes for hunter. For warrior its more likely ur gonna just focus charge, be aware of reflecting propetly + some major peel/ focusinterrupt. Its easier for them to observe whats going on and set up swtich targets for example.

Rogue > Mage > Warrior = Hunter

I've played all of them (of course I haven't mastered those classes but from what I saw [how hard it was to adjust, learn])

So here they asked me "Piroxz, what's your secret to achieve Challenger 8 in a row?"
So I answered: "Money, Bitches, Weed"

you're going to get a huge spread of people who are going to rank shit in an out of this world way. Just play what you want, stop trying to find the lowest skill cap class (or the other way around depending) and play what you enjoy playing, you'll be better at that than anything els.

I feel like Mage has higher skill cap than Rogue but Rogue requires more skill to become effective with. Rogue will get absolutely wrecked if they don't learn to trinket or vanish certain things on time, Mage has more breathing room.

Haven't played any of these classes other than Mage and not even good @ that but here's my worthless opinion -

I'd say skill cap -
Mage
Rogue
Warrior
Hunter

Skill requirement to play effectively (like 2-2.2k+) -
Rogue
Mage
Hunter
Warrior

Mage has been dumbed down a lot with 4.0 though, not sure if it will be better in Cata but r1 and Arcane Missiles being removed from Frost's arsenal was pretty /facepalm.

you know, there's a reason why you have no helmets below your name, if you think that hunters take more skill to play than mages or rogues ;)

no offense obviously

anyway
