Why take Ret?

I'd say Feral, Rogue or even a DK would do the job much better.

If you factor in that Rets will have to be buffed significantly, I agree with the OP that it could be a strong comp. Although I'll be starting with either :hunter::paladin::druid: or :warrior::paladin::druid:

I don't have that many choices.

:paladin::mage::druid:

Great mage + ret synergy with DF -> CS + Ret wings and offensive cds up :D

Furthermore two spammable ccs. Awesome peel, survivability over a long time period. I cant detect any weaknesses at the moment.

Your thoughts as to this comp`?

great comp idea, base the whole idea and strategy behind the comp to global a healer in a DF with wings up. BRILLIANT.

Mage's dont global anyone at 85, but warriors do. Ret/war/druid,shmn,priest all the way.

This. DK / mage / holy or TSG are going to be much stronger than any ret comp.

Because he's the hero Azeroth deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll bash him because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a utility class, a chains spammer. A death knight.

i know they lowered the CD but it seems a little imbalanced.

For now any other melee seems better than Ret(except maybe Enhancement shammies). However they really need to buff ret. I think at some point during S9 we'll see some Ret buffs. With those Ret comps may be viable again.

Tho with me being a nongladiator my thoughts count for shit :P

I've had quite a hard time levelling as ret, so I believe you're not wrong.

I mean, it's been 15 times easier on my warrior.

TSG shouldn't win against an equally skilled LSD but 99% of all LSDs are super retarded so it's quite easy to zerg the druid from start to finish.

I had the same impression. I did not level a Paladin lately but when I did it was horribly hard.
On my Mage though it was easy as walking the dog :P

what the hell are you talking about, a well played ret and mage are able to give godly support to druid both when trained and during switches, think for yourself as to how

meh idk rets dont have that much in the ways of peels as they will almost always need freedom for themselves with their current mobility and the druid can't spam dispel or theyll go oom too fast thus leaving only hammer for peels which will be needed for offensive burst imo...

while mages do provide a lottt of peels i seriously believe that druids will need consistent peels from both dps in their current state to survive hard switches

I leveled a second paladin recently and it wasn't that hard, but it was way easier before 4.0.1 patch. The only good news in 4.0 patch is that I pretty much oneshot mobs with HoW during Avenging Wrath.

What I meant was that mobs in Cataclysm basically have around 50k hp at lvl 83 ~ (Uldum) and its pretty long to kill them as ret, while as warrior it barely takes 2-3 crit. And my warrior is undergeared, doesn't have full wrathful set and ofc no shadowmourne or heroic shit.

^ This. Add Warrior to the list. AKA: any other melee class.

I don't see why any optimal comp would ever play with a dps pally at this point. Losing dispel killed the class IMO.

PS: don't flame me. Never really looked at the changes to Rets. >.>

There is a promised Cleanse buff in the air. With Cleanse removing a slow or incapacity when cast on oneself it would give HoF room to be applied on teammates. And a HoF every 20 seconds is somehow a reverse peel.
