too bad its still the squishiest of all pets and dies in like 6 seconds to one corruption

and itll go oom in 40 seconds even if it doesnt get gibbed lulululu

assuming it stays the way it is now

Good, it's about time. Water Elemental is far and away one of the shit'ist pet in the game at the moment, just look at how it stacks up to stuff like Spirit Wolves. Right now it's not a lot more than another couple Shatter openings every few minutes.

I think the squish is a fair trade for it being instant cast and having the cooldown tick while it's out, assuming those both remain unchanged.

As for going OOM, hopefully that'll be fixed with the whole mana revamp thing Cata is big on.

Edit: I wonder if we'll get to name it now.

actually not sure if the cd thing will stay. i think the cd starts ticking once it dies. not sure tho. will check

Hope it turns out to be more like the dk pets, tons of hp and defensive CD's to keep it alive.

I can't make the water elemental go oom in beta unless i'm constant griding for 3+minutes (without raid buffs of course)

This is not so bad, now mages will want to keep their pet alive which squishy as fuck. Aka a nice mana sink for their healers.

It won't be a mana sink because it's hp is so low I can currently be one shotted by anyone.
Healers won't have time to heal it anyway.

you can probably expect it to scale with resil/have more HP as a permanent pet.  I like this change, in the context of having the forced FoF charges when you use pet freeze.

An example of how they synergize well:  you pop WE in the starting gate.  You open against TSG, and they're rushing your healer/warlock.  Pet Freeze one or both melee, which procs FoF, and you can DF the healer to prevent dispel.

It is a great way to peel melee + control healers in one GCD, and you can afford to spend Freezes this way because of a permanent pet.

Keep it squishy but add a "recall" spell (1.5sec chaneling ^^)

makes it so you can take him out of the heat (but the 1.5sec cast isnt too OP against team that started focusing it) plus it would make it so you can set up better shatters

maybe I'm just awful, but I find it really annoying when I need a clutch freeze and the pet is out of LOS

Considering all pets will have a click to move ability that will allow you to place it wherever you want, I doubt a recall spell will be needed ( and if you need a clutch freeze, 2~ seconds is a long time to set up to consider it to be clutch anymore =p )

edit: oh and while i'll agree having a pet out of LOS is annoying, I gotta say often times, if you're aware of where your pet is you can usually aim freeze around pillars, akin to how you can mass dispel stuff around pillars

I wasnt aware of this, thanks for the info.. and yeah 1.5 seems a little too much when you think about it :o

Yeah, this makes the click to move a lot more useful to us. Being able to stretch a Freeze out to like 80 yards regularly has uses.

I can assure you that they are entitled to complain. I've played all pet classes and it feels awfull when the opposite team goes for your pet, succed to kill it with o effort and almost no other penalty
