What is Blizzard smoking? This shit is hilarious. Frost mage have been thé big CCers of WOTLK and they decide to take away alot of our control, coupled with no promise of higher damage anywhere in that tree.

even more hilarious is that they actually NERFED fire for pvp, no more 35% chance to reflect fire/frost spells, NO MORE fiery payback, no more burning determination.

i honest to god begin getting the feeling that blizzard doesnt have a clue what theyre doing. nerfing one of the least viable pvp specs in the game and taking away control from frost, while not balancing it with more damage to frost mages.

The changes murder frost. Improved counterspell is so important. Arcane is looking awfully nice right now in comparison despite how bloated it is.

Anyone else check out how beefed up improved fire blast is, and with impact being lower in the tree and stuff that's cool. Too bad 2/2 talented impact is only 7%. If it had a higher proc chance it'd be viable to pick frost/fire or arc/fire to get spammable stun.

Baking the stun in to improved fire blast some how would be awesome with some adjustments to its cooldown.

no more 35% chance to reflect fire/frost spells,

This is a blessing in disguise with how Spellsteal works.

I wouldn't worry too much about how mediocre Frost looks yet, wait a build or two.

I'm focusing mostly on getting imp CS back to Frost and Fire, either as a T1 talent or baseline.

Arcane is just flat out the best tree right now, both as a mainspec and a subspec, but that's because of this early look at the trees, not because of how it'll look later... again, don't read too much in to this yet.

http://www.wowtal.co...V7tzCz.9mn.mage frost/impact/netherwind (can you go 2 secondary trees? without imp cs and with how shatter works now + the ttw nerf it's not really worth going down arcane, imp.blink is nice but if you are already snared it's not all that much of a help.)
http://www.wowtal.co...kGsXqi.9mn.mage frost/arc (AM no BF) <-- build will suck because of mastery probably (I also have no idea how AM works. If you can't cast AM at all once you take BF then that is pretty bullshit.)

I like the direction they are going but it still needs a lot of work, and they should get someone who has a better idea of what they are doing with regards to arena/pvp.

i'd argue it helps the MOST if you're already snared

I agree to an extent, but most of the time when you blink you are either blinking out of line of sight already, out of a stun, or the blink creates enough of a gap to juke/try to cast. In all of those cases you lose out on most of the bonus.

I can see how it would be really nice vs hand of freedom if you blink out of los, but mages already bring an equal/better snare than every other class.

I'll probably fall in love with the talent once I get to use it. It will be nice against rogues/warrs.

Arctic reach is going to be built into all frost spells for all mages now im pretty sure.

Actually I just logged on the beta, Frostbolt has 30 yard range so I doubt CoC and Frost Nova has the improved range

with that build i'd drop piercing ice and get Brain Freeze. as for the arcane tree im relatively sure u'd be better off with 2pts in Arcane Repulsion, i start most matches with Mage Armor, when i notice a melee train incoming i just swap to ice armor. Arcane Repulsion seems to be perfect for that, be opened on, knock opponents away 12 yards with 50% slow and just have a spare global breathing time to put on Ice Armor and cast a spell while they run back
