Well by that logic, who the hell here wants to be a healbot in arena anyway? If you wanted to play that role, you should roll a holy paladin which far excells the priests healing capabilities.

The cool thing about priests is that they have so much utility and their role is not entirely restricted to casting heals on their team mate- however with that said they are responsible for keeping their team alive, but that is two different things. While priests does it largely by preventing damage with crowd control and absorbtion, the paladin does it by raw healing power.

The problem with priests right now isn't that they don't have a niche or that their role is unwanted - it's that the numbers and scalings on their tools are not up to par in the current state of the game.

Pain suppression is too weak - The cooldown is too long and the reduction percentage is too low.

Mana Efficiency is too poor by woltk standards. In reality, their mana efficiency is probably where ALL healers should be, instead of having some classes that are basically un-oomable (hi paladins, hi druids).

Mobility could use a notch up, probably by making Fade break snares baseline instead of being exclusive to shadowpriests.

Some of their heals are too weak. Flash heal especially. If you bumped its healing to maybe +30% of what it is now, it would be a much more useful spell when penance is on cooldown. Buffing penance is a bad idea imo, we all saw how overpowered it was back in the beginning of season 6 when every terrible disc priest could get carried to high ratings by using penance on cooldown. That's not good for the class imo.

Their damage output is probably too high, a disc priests specced and glyphed correctly can do the same or more burst as a mage with cooldowns up, which is a bit ridiculous.

There are other things that could use some tweaking, but turning disc priests into healbots by taking away utility and trading it for more powerful heals would take a lot of fun out of the class imo.

No it's not, just because you're playing it on a favorable BG ( read : easy ), doesn't mean it's fine.

It's like saying shadow was fine and shadowpriest/warlock was fine because I was running it at 2400+ in s3 and 2300+ in s4, and maybe 3-4 other players/teams could replicate same success worldwide. Your success comes from battlegroup metagame ( directly tied to good queueing sessions ), standalone player quality, quality of players to work as a team, and pve gear ( rofl ), and also there's cases where it comes from the spec itself - which isn't the case here, seeing disc's healing output is parallel to the one of a ret paladin ( with quite larger mana pool which is there to just look beautiful, not useful, seeing even at 600 mp/5 disc regen is fucking SHIT ).

But mostly, right now, seeing a disc priest highrated is more a indication of how crappy the battlegroup is or how good the priests team is ( unless said priest is running protret/disc/resto, then it's a nobrainer ).

while i do agree with most the stuff u said such as the mana effiency but pain sup is definetly not too long a cd like ya barkskin is a 1 min cd but it is not able to be cast upon other players thus a shorter cd is justifable imo and a longer one for pain sup since u have more options with it...that in said tho priests are easily gibbable without pain sup so boosts to their survivability would be nice

double healer seems better than it is because it actually takes coordination to beat, but it isn't difficult if you have coordination

just like RMP

it so happens that most of the people annoyed enough to complain fall under the category of can't beat RMP (or dbl healer for that matter)

Ghostcrawler said that Flash Heal is supposed to be used very rarely and that's why it heals for shit and costs shit loads.

He forgot that rarely in wotlk arena becomes a spam, where classes that can spam heals forever from 40 yards win.

It's certainly a mixed bag, but it's all disc priests can manage outside of RMP or disc/ele/mage.

Lets just hope lifegrip goes on live, new aspect to priestclass and unique mechanic to healers

Life grip is amazing. But they're just adding 1 cooldown for us to use before we get destroyed by either opponent damage or our regen.

Dpriests are not that bad, can't believe ppl are like PRIEST HEALING IS 1 EXPANSION BACK just because you don't have a 10k crit heal every 5 seconds...

And ya, it DOES SUCK to not have a 10k crit heal every 5 seconds. Gets retarded when u can easily get trained down, even when u get peels, if they can get out of it for like, 1 second, then they can get right back on you.

Ur a rogue, how do you know what its liek as a priest? you have priest alt? Then you should know. It sucks
