I've gotten WAY too much PMs this week regarding way I dispel my partners, so besides submitting to macros section, I'm also posting it here

Quote

#showtooltip Dispel Magic
/cast [nomodifier, target=party1] Dispel Magic
/cast [modifier:alt, target=party2] Dispel Magic
/cast [modifier:ctrl, target=party3] Dispel Magic
/cast [modifier:shift, target=party4] Dispel Magic
/stopmacro [nomodifier]

It's simple. Bind it on a simple key ( meaning let's say, Q - meaning no shift+Q or w/e ) - and don't have any binds to that key except that one ( so no shift+Q bound for xyz, and alt+Q doing zyx ).

Let's say you've bound it on Q:

Q - dispels first person in your party
alt+Q - dispels second person in your party
ctrl+Q - dispels third person in your party
shift+Q - dipels fourth person in your party

you can replace partyNUMBER with names of your partners if you'd like, meaning you can always press Q to dispel your healer partner or something, although if you swap comps a lot like I do, you'll learn to appreciate doing it this way.

May sound complicated, but in reality it's quite simple and worth getting used to.

I use EDSF to move (WASD is horrible).
W and R are dispel macros like /cast [target=Woundmanlol] Dispel Magic.  They've been working fine for me since S3.  Since I'm not doing serious 5's, 3 dispel macros for teammates (plus self-dispel) seems more than adequate in 4dps.

Not gonna hate on your macro Lolflay - since it obviously works for you, but for example that alt-Q variant seems like it would be a terrible contortion of one's fingers...ultimately losing valuable time and making it difficult to do other things like jump or strafe simultaneously.

What I do is have

Dispel party 1 (mousewheel up)
Dispel party 2 (mousewheel down)
Dispel Target (T)
Dispel Focus Target (Shift+T)
Dispel Self (Z)

This way I can effortlessly dispel my partners, and even instantly dispel by just scrolling my wheel when I see an incoming cast on spellalerter, without affecting my movement or other actions with my left keyboard hand.

I hate 5's so I haven't even bothered to make a dispel macro for it, i just use clique whenever.

For 3's, i use ctrl+D for dps partner and ctrl+A for healer.  R is dispel target, shift + R for myself. If i ever get a 5's team that is semi-competitive, i'll probably just use mouse wheel up and down for the remaining team members.

R = Dispel Arggy (Hpala)
C = Dispel Radge (Warrior)
N = Dispel Zvenn (Mage)
Y = Dispel Kig (Shaman)
Shift + Space = Normal dispel
Ctrl + Space = Self Dispel

Ctrl + 1 = Dispel Arena frame 1
Ctrl + 2 = Dispel Arena frame 2
Ctrl + 3 = Dispel Arena frame 3
Ctrl + 4 = Dispel Arena frame 4
Ctrl + 5 = Dispel Arena frame 5

^ Is something I'm trying to get used to since I can imagine it being good in the long run..

it's common sense that every priest has a dispelmacro for each partymember bound to a button.
There is no difference if its key 1 and key 2 or key 1 and shift + key 1.

Seeing as the macro does nothing in addition, I don't see the point - The only information shared is that you use Q for dispels.

Well personally I think it's worth using additional mousebuttons for dispels like caith said. Though reason for that might also be that unfortunately I don't feel comfortable with all 3 modifiers...especially alt feels horrible.

Great if that works for you, but remember to keep your interface/binds not only functional but also easy to use - What has helped me alot, is a macro to dispel your friendly targets target.
So if you target one of your dps to heal him, you can easily offensively dispel his dps targets.

Why would you not use your own keybind as an example?  Are you Woundman?

Yep, my keybinds would revolutionarize the way priest class is played, so its secret :) :) :)

nah jk, I use mousewheel down for plain Dispel ( and my selfcast key is "alt", so alt+mousewheeldown is self dispel )

I bound that macro I posted here to S though ( no one needs backpeddle )

do the math :)
