Hey all priests and priestesses,

We're looking to update the Priest Macros section of the site, we had some feedback that it is vastly outdated. Which macros do you think should be updated (and preferably respond with the macro), and which macros should be removed all together?

Thanks:)

SHould probably remove the sfiend macro and put in the one i mentioned, a lot more in depth and it's the only one you really need.

pretty much this

you won't really find any macros specific to priests like how rogues have a sap macro except for maybe fear ward shadowfiend and modifiers for dispel target/focus/self etc

And even those are just preference, I don't use dispel macros because I like to target who I'm dispelling just to see what's being put on them etc, couple that with Spell Alerter you can get off fast dispels as long as you use solid keybinds for party targeting.

#showtooltip Dispersion
/cancelaura Dispersion
/cast Dispersion

Swd the closest target:

/cast [target=focus, harm] Shadow Word: Death; [target=target, harm] Shadow Word: Death; [target=targettarget, harm] Shadow Word: Death
/stopmacro [harm] [target=targettarget,harm] [target=focus,harm]
/targetenemy
/cast Shadow Word: Death
/targetlasttarget

Power infusion macro:

/cast [target=Player] Power Infusion
Question -"are gladiators good future managers? genuinely curious about your opinions guys."

Awnser -"Doubt it as a direct correlation. Not everyone can be the leader on a team.

However I wouldn't be surprised if gladiators have an abnormally high spacial IQ."

I hate when people ask what macros I use, its like..

HOLY SHIT
/cast Desperate Prayer
/use Fel Healthstone

100% game breaking macro right there, holy lord, for 5s

and of course

/cast Shadowfiend
/petattack

BOOOOOOOM (fuck the one that does like 20 things like dispelling it)

or umm

/cast [exists,target=pet] Fear Ward
/cast Fear Ward

OOOOOOO MANNNNNN

Priests don't use many macros, ditch the entire idea..

Warriors on the other hand, 20 macros minimum.

People still make threads asking for macros on the Priest Forum so the few macros that are being used would be nice have compiled in the Macros section, thanks for the help so far, keep them coming.

I'd make a forum post asking the community what priest macros they WANT not what other priests use because priests don't need macros, but if someone is generally noticing a problem with their gameplay that a macro could fix, have them post what they need. A priest that copies another priests' macros or keybinds is not going to do as well as someone who learns their own style.

Asking for "any good class macros" is a bad way of asking in the first place.
Macros should make things you're doing already more comfortable, so if one doesn't know exactly what kind of macro he is looking for, does he really need it at all?

There are however several basic ways to control your priest - talking about using focus, different approaches to selfcasting, assist casting, etc. - which also results in what kind of macros you will need.

As suggestion, you could divide the macro section into 2 parts: The first giving an introduction to these methods (i guess it will be 2-3 decent ones) and a second part showing some macro examples.

I would like a macro that casts sw:d normally if I have a hostile target, and sw:ds the closest hostile target if my target is friendly. I would also like a similar macro for my focus target sw:d (if I don't have a focus target, it sw:ds the closest target)

/targetenemy [target=focus,noexists]
/cast [target=focus,exists][harm] Shadow Word: Death

#showtooltip Penance(Rank 4)
/cast [noharm][target=player] Penance(Rank 4)

-Self PI (XYZ being your name)

/cast [@XYZ] Power Infusion

-Shadowfiend macro (lil fucker should stay on its target, dispel fiend included)
#showtooltip Shadowfiend
/cast [nopet] Shadowfiend

/petattack
/cast [harm, pet] Shadowcrawl; [target=pettarget, pet] Shadowcrawl
/cast [target=pet,exists]Dispel Magic(Rank 2)

-Fear Ward macros (XYZ being me or my pal in 5s and my pet)
#showtooltip Fear Ward
/cast [@XYZ] Fear Ward

-Shackle gargoyle workaround (shackle gargoyle if it's there, shackle your target if not)
#showtooltip Shackle Undead(Rank 3)
/target Ebon Gargoyle
/cast Shackle Undead(Rank 3)
/targetlasttarget

-SW;D macro (not conviced it's the best, SW;D your target or ToT if your target is friendly)
#showtooltip Shadow Word: Death(Rank 4)
/stopcasting
/cast [harm] Shadow Word: Death(Rank 4); [target=targettarget, harm] Shadow Word: Death(Rank 4)

Yo I use a similar penance macro,

#showtooltip
/cast [help,target=target] Penance
/cast [target=player] Penance

I tried using yours as well and I found the same problem.

If I have anyone on my team targeted, and have my cursor over top of thier raid frame, it will not cast penance.

I have to move my cursor off the raid frame for it to go off. Any idea's on why this is happening? and do you have the same problem?

It's probably coming for another macro or maybe an addon, because I don't have this problem.
