I posted once in the Hunter forums saying Zod's Repeating Longbow should be the ranged equivalent of Bryntroll and when I woke up the next morning I had like 5 million rep.

the hunter community is really, really fucking hardcore with the rep system.

Post once saying "i dont think hunter damage is out of control" as any class other than a hunter, and you will have more rep than moonies.

Post ONCE saying "hunter burst/frontload/damage is slightly too high and should be tweaked/changed/nerfed/made avoidable" and you will get more -rep than everyone on AJ combined.

delusional.

I was going to post something about how the Hunter community is godawful and only composed of complete morons and utter failures who all practice group fellations then I realised Alphatier 2.0 might give me an infraction and that would probably get me banned.

PS: I randomly -rep Hunters because they're all obnoxious, feels great
PPS: +rep me please

My point was either it was either a) mooncloth not being that much better regenwise or b) you not being as mana-efficient as you could have been.

If he has more regen then he is going to be using it less conservatively. If you and him had the same amount of mana at the end of the game, but your overall damage was significantly lower, it means his extra mana did more than your crit. Putting out more pressure isn't inefficient when it causes your shaman to have to stop and heal instead of playing offensive with purges/adjusting position etc. Your and Shouri's mana may have been similar but your shaman was behind (partly because he didn't use water shield at the proper times).

I'm not arguing whether crit or regen is better, but I'm saying there are probably more benefits of  wearing mooncloth that you are overlooking.

And here I was assuming your entire crew was a bunch of twelve year old unibrowed internet ethugs.  It's good to see a well thought out post.

I agree with you, but my argument is that it's not about overall damage done.  It's about maximizing the amount of damage that can be done in a given window (a CC train).  Landing an extra crit or two in that window can be the difference between scoring a kill and only getting close to scoring a kill.

Mooncloth can either a) give you more sustained damage from both the regen and the increased spellpower, or b) give you second chances when you fail to score a kill in previous windows of opportunity.  The former is the reason mooncloth is often preferred for Shadowplay, because you're not trying to land that kill in a window of opportunity (usually).  It's more about sustained pressure on multiple targets.

1.  spriest dmg is sorta overpowered
2.  crit is more dmg vs more regen
3.  whenever you are playing something OP, the secret is to maximize how OP it is

implicit conclusion
===================

go crit bc our dmg is stupid and with crit it is even more stupid

I have both set on multiple priest.

I dont think I use 5 pc Satin over 5pc Mooncloth, in this case I prefer mooncloth.

With 2pc T10 + NIC I much prefer satin instead.

NIC especially make satin damage cycle is very OP IMHO.

If I had PvE gear I'd use Satin because the damage is insane and you get a nice boost in Int to keep your mana up.

tried it a bit with an undergeared hunter, just doesn't feel the same without a shaman - would like to try it again tho when hunter gets t2 wep (upgrade from t1 s7)

People will just cry how insanely retarded troll racial is when coupled with 3  ccs that have different DRs.
