Pve items will be DFO, heroic skyweaver robes, and exalted AV ring

Resil trinket + all wrathful haste offset
wrathfull crit as second ring
Haste offhand + spell pen wand (with spell pen offhand eventually because my comp has no solid offensive dispell)

haven't calculated those stats out but it's looking solid. I wish they came out with a haste ring :(

and I cant use the WG shoulders.. i love lock relentless and wrathful set way to much

I wish there would be a haste ring available from honor.

I don't even think I'll buy the crit ring, I'll most likely just pass and use a pve ring or idk.

What are these WG shoulders you are talking about?  I can't find them.

Official Blizzard Quote:

Part of the reason is that Battlegrounds are like ducks.
Finally, I understand why pvp in this game is so bad.

I have a question for everybody here.  Last season around 1000 resilience was more than enough (I thought anyway, I ran with 1060ish and thought it was way more then enough) now with resilience being doubled (for the most part) why do people want to stack up to 1300-1400 resil? (2600-2800 last season resil pretty much).

I'd like to know why everybody thinks stacking resil is the way to go now a day (especially some people want to go as high as 1300-1400)  I still think around 900 would be plenty (guess I dont know for sure til t2/heroic weapons) but still 900 this season is pretty much like 1800 last season.

I still think if you can give up say 60 resil for 60 haste or 60 resil for 60 spell power you should go for the offensive stat rather than the resil.

As for me, as I said earlier I'm really thinking about being around the 900 resil mark, but still have around 3100-3200dmg with fel armor but upwards to 1100+ haste.  Am I crazy for wanting to do this?  o_O

every point resil gets its effect doubled, thats pretty much the reason i do it
there´s also nothing else i´d get with less resil
i got a pretty good amount of spellpower (3k+ unbuffed) and haste (600+)

Haven't done any arena yet so I think it's still too early for me to tell if I want to be picking up as much resil as everyone else is aiming for.  Currently sitting at 928 resil with three pieces of pve gear(two rings and crafted legs).  Didn't figure out how much more resil I would be getting once all is said and done, but I'd imagine once I finish up my gear I'll be sitting around 1K resil if not more.  Seems like enough for me.

I don't know why people are going for such extremes numbers like 1300-1400.  Makes sense in theory since the value of resil got doubled, but is it really necessary to be aiming that high?  Maybe I'm still just underestimating the value of resil so once I get some games in I can give some better input.

After upgrades (that is, full wrathful mainset / offset) using the new pvp trinket I'll easily be looking at 1250+ using a pve ring; if someone were using all pvp gear, 1300 would be attainable without a single resilience gem.

I don't think anyone has a magic number yet (which I would say was somewhere between 900 - 1000 pre patch, though some locks dipped below that and some even went above) but I don't think it's worthwhile to gem resilience.

1400 is also the "cap", but getting to that point is pretty arbitrary imo. You would sacrifice too much getting from about 1250 to 1400.

I'm pretty sure full pvp gear with one or two pieces of pve gear (ICC ring definitely, possibly a piece of pve mainset with a substantially higher ilvl than wrathful, or even another pve ring since the wrathful wring is crit and more haste would be desirable) will net you enough resilience.

I find it retarded that people say "X resil is enough"

Would you ever hear someone say: "Yeah I could get more SP but 2900 SP is enough" ?  People are too biased towards offense, especially with how little you need to give up to sit at 1300 resil this season

You only need enough resil to survive an unavoidable situation. It  doesn't matter if you stack resil to the cap, if you are caught in a  bad position without cds, you'll die. The way I see it, defensive stats are only useful when you take damage, while offensive stats are always useful. The resil/defensive stats threshold("x resil is enough") varies depending on comp, and spec.
