order of melee damage capabilities, best to worst

1)warrior
2)hunter
3)prot war/prot pal
4)feral
5)rogue
6)dk/ret
7)enh

thats not to say if dks actually recieved ms their damage wouldnt need reworking

20% MS wouldnt be too bad or give a disease when dispelled target gets 20% MS

No...

Ua lock has 3 targets dotted. *disease cleansing totem removes disease from all 3* shaman has to heal through 3 Ms'd targets...Balanced

I don't really see the argument for mortal strike, DKs still seem pretty strong. DKs easily have the second strongest movement lockdown in the game (second to frost mages, who deal much less damage than DKs over time and have a weak MS) and are still quite difficult to kill in most situations. The defensive abilities and utility of the class have always warranted a low level of damage, the only change I could really see as fair would be a damage buff in exchange for a slight nerf somewhere else so we don't go back to s6.

Anyway, I found it kind of odd how you listed only 2 viable comps for DKs, one of which had no mortal strike, and then from that list arrived at the conclusion that DKs are pigeonholed into playing with MS classes :rolleyes: You also forgot PHD.

im playing lock at 2500mmr in deadly and put out shit tons more pressure than my dk dmgwise. warriors and rogues do as well.

dks need mortal strike in order to be able to fit their archtype, which is melee peeler. (i.e warrior, rogue, "hunter")

if you dont play dk, you dont know what you are talking about in this topic. all you know is ridiculous amounts of dmg tsg and shadowcleave can put out (which in most cases is the war and lock, trust me)

most ppl responding in this thread dont play dk and are raging at the fact that dks get would want to be balanced around other melee classes

and how do i check the comments of ppl downvoting me lmaoo

I think you can see them in the user control panel.

Also, if DKs want to get balanced around other melee classes, that's fine. As long as "other melee classes" doesn't consist of warriors and rogues, which are both quite overpowered right now.

The term describes directly striking an opponent at ranges generally less than a few feet with fists, feet, knives, rifle-butts or any other melee weapon with the intention of causing harm.

DK damage is fine...Warriors need a hard nerf because they're doing more damage than anyone else WITH MS.

Never say "the only thing we need" or "if only X gets fixed we'll be fine" unless you're absolutely sure it's true.
How would this help against a druid healer who will never run OOM using only innervate as a way to regain mana? It won't.

Diseases need better protection. How good that protection is will then determine how much further oter abilities needs to be tweaked upwards to get a reasonably good class as an end result.


MS isn't needed, disease protection isn't needed as such, S5 is clear evidence of that as the class was OP back then without either.
SOMETHING however is needed because DKs are currently not fine, and it can be any of a myriad of things that would improve the class, some form of disease protection should probably be in the booster pack in some way or another.

I understood what your original statement meant, I'm just pointing out that you might want to clarify something like this to avoid sounding dumb.

If DKs needed Mortal strike then enh shammys would need Mortal strike + Unrelenting assault.:D :D :D
Enh shammy dmg compare to dk is fail after wolfs.

Maybe give all hybrid classes (shaman,paladin,Dk,feral) Unrelenting assault effect. But mortal strike is a bit too much.
