<Warning this may not be the best option for 3.3 and I need to test it for my self before I say what I found better in this patch, since the changes are pretty big, I will update this post when something has changed>

Ok seems like I'm getting asked about specs quite a lot so I will post what specs I use for live play for ladder standings.
MMR chooses what spec you are going to play including what the majority of teams are on your BG in the top 1-40.
From how it was before 3.3 I would say these specs are what I found best:

RP (Rogue Priest 2v2 bracket)

Ratings 0-3000 MMR Talent Spec: http://www.wowhead.c...ohzZ0xZebfb0hdb
Weapon Choice/Poisons: Double Wound no matter what with a anesthetic poison weapon in your bags for weapon swapping to remove Berserker Rage from warriors.
For this comp you need to learn to get the best opener possible having your priest to nuke as much as possible as the Penance Smite priest spec as this set up you wan't to get enough pressure on the opener to put the other team behind on cooldowns then finish them off with yours. If you don't manage to do this theres always a pillar for 5 minutes unless its RoV. ;D

RMP (Rogue Mage Priest 3v3 bracket)

Ratings 0-2499 MMR Talent Spec: http://www.wowhead.c...RhuZ0bZebfbc0db
Weapon Choice/Poisons: Option 1 Deadly Poison on Main Hand, Wound on offhand for 2 1.8's or Wound Mainhand and Deadly offhand for 1.8+1.4, exception mentioned below.
I go mainly Master Poisoner for other rogue teams and go with double wound not deadly poison against them, unless its ret rogue priest. Also your mage would need glyph of polymorph when you are playing this spec. For other plate teams just go envenom and teams at this rating won't be able to out heal your damage unlike how it is at 2.65k-3k mmr.

For the rest of the guide which includes 2.5k+ RMP and 5v5 go to www.hydramist.net > forums >Board index > Questions Questions > Ask Kalimist

Please don't forget to +REP me if you found this helpful.

Good post but why would they use berserker rage before the fear?

Alot of Warriors using it on gouge to be honest, it was mostly a automatic reaction from pre-TBC and TBC to use it instantly, very few PR teams actually used anesthetic then, you'd still probably have alot of Warriors below aroud 2300-2400 who still do it. And since this guide probably isn't directed at Gladiator and above level players thats why it would be there :)

Even at higher rating warriors will still zerker gouges if they play with dispellers since one might argue there won't be a need to save it for fear unless the dispeller positions themselves badly. Especially if the P/R team is pillar humping for cds.

Either way, really interesting idea anyway and i'm sure plenty of people didn't think of using anasthetic poison that way. The only practical use I thought of for it in arena was to remove hunger for blood from rogues but this is another really good use for it.

I'm pretty sure it also worked in an early patch on BM and removed it from Hunters, although I think (I'm not sure) that they changed that so it didnt happen anymore.

Awesome initiate by you guys.

I have a question though, Kalimist. When playing 2s, P/R, isn't it beneficial for the rogue to use deadly poison on one weapon vs. plate wearers for envenom, or to protect wounding from the dispels?

I have tried both specs constantly and I found 41/5/25 is better for PR, if your priest has solace then you can brain dead tunnel plate and out last them and works quite well but its not really my style. D:

I see, I don't necessarily mean outlasting them by envenoming.
From what I've seen by playing against PR as Hpala / warrior, we've had massive trouble when they were envenom-specced, as it crits for like 8-10k all the time, normal hits for 5k etc.

That combined with stuns, dismantles, fears, blinds etc. seems more dangerous than the traditional specc tbh.

But I'll test it all out when I get my priest to 80 I suppose :)

As somebody else suggested, if you could give small pointers / guides on how to beat specific setups as PR, that would be awesome. Thank you.

you know envenom isnt really a lot of a rogues overall damage, becuase if you'r using KS, and perhaps some S&D (which is often better anywyas) then you end up using 1 envenom every like 25 seconds if you tunnel all the time.

i know it can be hard to deal with priest rogues as warrior pala at lower ratings (I'v got a warr alt on 2k myself) but if you learn how to play them you will counter them unless they play extemely hard on restealthing all the time which you prolly wont see below 2500
