Haste formula: newCastTime = baseCastTime / (1 + haste)

Ok so just went through all the numbers and the gear you could use that's easily accessible with minimal work
Keep in mind this is using this season's gear.

Working off the standard 13/0/58 spec

Items:
101 - MH + OH
95 - Haste PvP trinket
128 - BM trinket
42 - WG ring (15 marks)
70 - 12sp/10 haste gems (7)
34 - Dragon's eye gem
_____________________________

470 = Total haste = 14.3336%

Add in the flat 10% and you're at 24.3336% haste rating

Brings:
1.5 -> 1.2064
2.0 -> 1.6085
Cyclone at 1.126 (assuming -.1 is taken before haste)
Lifebloom at 1.085

Still hit capped at 160 hit (50 neck, 50 ring, 50 cloak, 12sp/10 hit gem)
Still spell pen capped at 121 (two +43 spell pen and +35 enchant)

Definitely worth it for the loss of 250-350sp and 25mp5

Start building that haste set

After patch 3.3 I agree haste will be the way to go. Hopefully we have time to buy the haste dagger and the OH by that time. Come S8 they better give us haste offset pieces.

I *hope* haste is calculated after Naturalist. I'm not sure how to validate this.

Also, if you're going for the quick HT build, you probably want to put that 1 point you have in Revitalize into Empowered Touch.

Why you say that?

Faster GCD gets hots up quicker, which helps deal with swaps
You heal faster with rejuve, which is more healing quicker

Seein how my rejuv is around 40% of my healing in arenas on average (and much more in BGs and PvE) the change to haste seems at least worth the try.

What bothers me is that rejuv healing percentage lowers drastically as the opponents get burstier/better at switches. So it might have a very very very low effect on good teams.

Overall i cant see this change as a pvp buff, we'll see how it pans out.

Dunno, with the glyph you're healing quicker.

I feel that if the games go on for a long time, more spell power would be better, but most games seem to end rather quickly.

I can get around 623 haste with only using the 35 badge ring for PvE gear.
Combine that with the 13%(http://ptr.wowhead.c...ZfVIubux0zAzsio) haste and you're totaling 32% haste


623 haste puts you at about 19% right?

I don't think those talents give you a flat 13% haste that you just add on to your current haste %...

The way I imagined it, if you started with 620 haste and specced into the new Gift of the Earth Mother, it would put you at 682 haste, a 10% increase.

Maybe I'm wrong.

Looking forward to trying a full haste build with GotEM. Already started gearing and gemming accordingly. Mana isn't an issue very often in 3s now, and having a full haste set bringing my cyclones down to about 1.1 sec casts with glove bonus + haste + GotEM sounds pretty hot.

Its really just like warlocks gemming haste... their dots might suffer a bit but the utility you get in terms of the speed of your CC and the extra globals you have to cast it should be invaluable.

Already started to gear myself with haste gear. It's obvlious that we will be stacking some haste to add from the 10% in GOTEM + the 3% in balance.

I would be much more enthusiastic about this if i ran a double dps healer 3s.

But as double healer... it just seems totally not worth it. Maybe its time for me to switch to IS.

@Daays: Where do you get that much haste? Necklace/cloak, weapon + oh + trinket have haste. U might need spell pene offhand tho.

Well, it seems stupid to drop hitcap and spellpen for haste. Other than that this buff seems promising! Would love to try out my 1.1cast cyclone =]

With some good 25 HC ToC Gear you can atm get stats like:
300~ Haste
750 Res
3000 Spellpower
Hitcap (6.02%)
Spellpencap


So this change will make PvE Gear pretty strong for RDruids imo since there are zero haste offpieces with res.

after the patch, he will have:

- 2659 healing
- 533 haste from gear (16.29%), with talents it will be 29.29%
- 1014 resilience
- 5.72% hit
- 74 spellpen


I dont think you can get much better than this without some hard to obtain pve gear.

- 2953 healing
- 447 haste from gear (13.48%), with talents it will be 26.48%
- 897 resilience
- 5.72% hit
- 74 spellpen

Much more to my liking. But that stuff would need some serious rading... hate PvE.

Staff - 113 haste (gemmed with two +43 spell pen)
Triumph Badge Ring - 50 haste (using a naxx ring atm with +35)
Haste BM trinket - 128 haste
Haste PvP trinket - 95 haste
Gems - +34 dragon's eye ; 180 from +20 haste gems
Cloak enchant - 23 haste

Totals 608/623

Still hit capped/spell pen

I don't take into account for mage armor usually as the comps I play the mage has on ice armor for fear of swaps.

I just ran it off the top of my head, didn't look to find the best sp/haste combo set yet

Yeah havnt made a template yet but mine would look pretty much like yours.
Maybe i would swap the chest out for the Faction Champs one, with gems good 120~ haste increase.

Anything over 800 Res is a stat waste imo but that might come down to the comp you are playing.
With Hunter Lock i have godly peels and dont need that high res so i can drop a bit for more haste.

On my Realm there are a few good PuGs that Oneshot everything till Twin Valakyr in Heroic so that shouldnt be the Problem, or you r gonna pay some pve guild.

When 3.3 hits live Icecrown will be released, which means higher Tier PvE Gear and 10 Man normalmode runs arent that hard to PuG.
So im pretty sure there will be tons of nice Haste Items we could use.


btw i could rage rly hard about still having to use that shitty ilvl 213 wg insignia. :(
